No, not saying that at all. I just think the ranking at the time of play is noteworthy. But if you want to use your logic then you are about to play the team that scored more points against the #1 team in the nation than anyone else did. Doesn't count for much, but just using your logic.
And the #1 team scored more points on you (65) than on any other team, even more than they scored on FCS opponent Chattanooga (62). Nice try.

...and I have zero problem granting you that fact. However, Auburn is not known for their defense this year. They've made strides over the year, but really...is that what you think of when you think of Auburn?

Haha, i guess we both agree on mile being the luckiest coach in football. But if lsu pounds the rock against us. We probably lose that game.
Well... sometimes, when you're well within your kicker's range and need just the FG to win, you go ahead and chuck it into the endzone on the game's last play just because it "feels" right, ya know?

Hey... as long as you're undefeated in regulation.

I know you're not asking me, but I think of poker chips, hitting QBs well after the play, and the FBI.

You didn't lose to the #4 team, you lost to the #18 team at the time, don't try to butter it up.

Key words there are "at the time"...the season has played out to show that Wisconsin was very under-ranked at the time. We beat Da U who was ranked #12 at the time but aren't ranked now--hell, they don't have a single vote in either the AP or Coaches poll now--so you don't see us thumping our chest about it. So if you're sorry enough to rely on early-season rankings to support your point, then I feel sorry for ya...

So.. if Ohio State played Texas in the opener, you'd be impressed, because they were #4?

Not impressed, but it would be noteworthy, not very but somewhat. You have to include the rankings at the time, because they are just that, the rankings. I was going by his logic. But ARK beating #5LSU in the last week of the season is more noteworthy than losing to the then #18 team that is now the #4 team.

#1 team you scored so much against has the #54 defense. Just using your logic.

statistics

After reading so many of these post about our offense vs. OSU defense and vice versa, it only made me think of an earlier post:
Statistics are like sluts, you can use them anyway you want.

Good luck to both teams! Play injury free and we will listen to the OSU chant while OSU fans listen to us "Callin' the Hogs'!

That makes no sense... Wisconsin is freaking legit dude. No one knew that they would be THIS good. But they are however in the top 5 and thats what counts in my opinion. They got stomped by wisky and we got stomped by auburn.

Which makes my point that I stated earlier that your defense is way more superior than ours. No doubting that. We have problems with basic tackling, sad, but true.

....is #18/#4 in a BCS Bowl?

is #5/#11 in a BCS Bowl?

LSU started out #16 this year and climbed to #5...now at #11

Is that really an argument? More like a puff of fart...

Cmon man...weak.

To me, its all a matter of context. South Florida was the #2 team a few years ago for about an hour and a half. If it doesn't stand up to what happened at season's end, then it REALLY doesn't matter. Alabama was one of the best teams in the nation this year, and it shows. However, they also were a lot further down this year than many people predicted.

For me, the Auburn game is more telling us about Arkansas' defensive weaknesses than it is saying anything about Arkansas' offense.

Auburn has given up:
43, 34, 31, 31 and 26 to Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi and Arkansas State. So they seemed to have given up a lot of points to other offenses' as well, not just the Hogs.

Arkansas' competition and schedule is impressive. But its completely out of the team's control. The Buckeyes have 1 loss to a team that will have at least 2 1st round OL in Carimi and Moffitt, a highly regarded DL, a top-notch RB corps, an underrated QB, and we played at night in their sold-out Stadium. Putting that loss into context: I am impressed with Ohio State's ability to get the game close to 21-18 in the 3rd quarter. That being said, Wisconsin went on to be the #4 team. So the story is not complete by stating that they are "just" the #18 team in the country. One can always skew rankings however they wish. Use pre-season polls, use end of season polls, use polls at time of play, or you can put the game into context. Texas and Florida were CLEARLY not top-10 teams this year no matter what kind of context you try to spin.

See what I mean?
