Yup. You have to try and scoop that ball up. It was not a fumble, as someone said ealier. That ball is the Hogs' ball no matter who falls on it. Gotta at least make an effort to pick it up and score. I am sure that the coaching staff will be reminding them of that a lot next year...
what happens though if he tries to pick it up and keeps kicking it until it goes out of the end zone? would it be a different result then?

i still feel that those 5 players should have been suspended for the sugar bowl and not for any games next year. low and behold, all 5 players came up big at one time or another. it is unfair that they got to play. let's please not forget this as we celebrate this great victory.

I don't think anybody's forgetting it. We just don't give a shit.

It was a very brainless play on his part. It was a blocked punt well behind the line of scrimmage - the only way Arkansas doesn't end up with the ball is if tOSU picks it up and gains a first down, or if Arkansas gains full possession of the ball and then fumbles it back. If he muffs it, it's still Arkansas ball no matter who falls on it in a scramble. And he had 4 teammates behind him closer to the ball than any Buckeye. He definitely should have taken the time to try to pick the ball up and score - I'm quite relieved he wasn't composed enough to realize that at the time.

I don't think he really had any time to assess the situation. He knew the ball was in front of him. He knew there were people around him. Had he turned to look who it was and it was an Ohio State player, he may not have gotten the ball.

More specifically, he knew the ball was getting behind him. I imagine his defensive instincts/coaching kicked in to not sacrifice possession altogether, and there was too much adrenaline and too little time to realize this wasn't a normal fumble recovery situation.

Waiting for my flight home from NO. I have no voice. While we were outnumbered by a wide margin we made some noise. That SEC chant at the end of the game was all Buckeyes.

Most of the Arkansas fans we met (the vast majority) were awesome. Then there were the two in our section. One turned around flipping off the Ohio State fans when Arkansas made a play. Then there was his pal who loaded up on liquid courage at halftime and joined in the fun with his pal. Oh well, every fan base has them.

The game was phenomenal. I wish we hadn't gone into the offensive shell at halftime but honestly we all knew it was coming.
