Thanks. There are a quite a bit of us normal tiger fans around but like every fan base we get overshadowed by the loud obnoxious minority. Our success the past 10 years has only made them louder.
We suffer the same fate. Welcome! This is usually a good place for discussion and our elitist pricks Mods don't suffer trolls lightly. Stick around, we've got some good posters who stayed around after our meetings with their teams.

Last year, I wasn't incredibly confident going into the game, and I 100% did not expect we were going to come out and dominate their asses like we did the first half. Although we did shit the bed in the redZone. But Day/Hafley outcoached the piss out of the clemsons.

So that gives me comfort this year knowing we are capable. I believe our offense is better, especially since we will have a QB that can use his legs this year and a RB that isn't playing on a bum ankle. Our D on the other hand, scares me. BUT, Clemson's D is not nearly as good this year as they were last year either.

Off topic but Oklahoma State had a WR 'opt out' at halftime of their bowl game.

Buckeye fans what are your opinions on this?

Coaches like Dabo and Day have the leverage to tell any recruit up front from day 1 if you plan on opt outing don't come here. I would hope they would start to use this leverage if they haven't already.

Not supporting a player making a decision they feel is best for them, regardless of the circumstances, feels like a dick move for a coach, especially if they do it up front regardless of the circumstances before the player even steps foot on campus. It sounds like something that Dabo would do, who is infamous for his “no visits” policy for verbal commitments and being a dickhead in general, and not something Ryan Day would do.

The impression I have of Ryan Day is that he focuses more on building team chemistry and a brotherhood amongst players to make it less likely people would choose to opt out, but that he is supportive of players making decisions they feel is best for them.

Even Urban Meyer, who is also clearly a bit of a dick himself, had players opt out on him.

Denzel Ward opted out of playing in Meyer’s final game as Ohio State’s head coach. Going burnt bridge on something like that up front with a player seems stupid and counterproductive; similar to the “no visit” policy, I hope Dabo implements it with gusto, and that along with pressuring for early commits and the “no visit” policy, these high pressure tactics will continue to burn him in the future Korey Foreman style.

Would you care to weigh in on Clemson’s oline? Carmen is obviously elite, but some of the other starters appear to be substandard, especially from a Clemson recruiting perspective (3-star guys or lower at C, RG, and RT from what I can tell), with true freshman as backups, so there aren’t really other options.

What happened there? Ohio State fans, including myself, feel like the Buckeye dline against Clemson’s oline is one of the biggest advantages we have and our best hope for disrupting and slowing down Clemson’s offense.

I don't give a fuck. The kid can do whatever he wants - it's his life and his decision.

Fuck Dabo.

FWIW, it looks like the staff planned on him not playing the entire game.
Cowboys coach Mike Gundy and offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn both said that Wallace's limited game action was preplanned in order to protect him from potential injury and to allow some of the team's younger receivers to see meaningful playing time.

"Obviously, he has a future that very, very few people have an opportunity for, so myself and Coach Dunn were very protective of him," Gundy said. "And we made the choice at that time to let some other players get in and compete, so we just didn't have to hold our breath in that situation."

I’ve been thinking about that Wisconsin game with Cardale making his first start. I was really nervous for that one. I had similar feelings for that one as I do about this one. I remember thinking: “Well, I’m proud of the guys for getting to the Big Ten Championship, but we’re going up against a Heisman candidate in Melvin and JT is done...”

I for damn sure didn’t see the most complete game the team had played all year coming, culminating in a thorough dismantling of Bucky. You might recall the defense wasn’t exactly mauling teams before that game.

Just some food for thought before Friday.

So you're saying Fields' thumb is bad, and Stroud will come in to lead them to a 50 pt victory. I'll allow it.
