Is this really where we are, complaining about Meyer?
Urban's is my guy but he's not perfect. He made a mistake two years ago putting together his staff. It's THESE errors that keep you from winning 5 championships in 8 years like bama has done.

Which is why I also said we need to pay our assistants. Urban had made some amazing hires but he's now had 3-5 really poor ones. Just think though, that maybe if we pay Herman 1.5m a year perhaps he stays as our coordinators for the past two years before accepting a job with Texas for this up coming year. It's not all UFM but my point is Saban will move quickly if he feels he made an error and UFM tends to let things play out

You'll never see Urban be as cutthroat at Saban due to his 2 year agreement. But it cuts both ways, IMO. It helps keep guys like Schiano around for at least 2 seasons when he could've easily had another HC shot at a smaller school next season.

But it also guarantees guys like Beck and Whithers will be granted 2 years at minimum before changes are made on Urbans end.

If Urban starts to force coaches out after one year due to performance, that destroys the whole idea of the "agreement." Guys will not feel obligated to stick around for the 2 year min and more frequent turnover is likely to happen. This is what was the primary cause of Urbans health issues at Florida if I recall.

It's not bullshit. He's simply pointing out the Meyer has made a few hires that could very well have cost us a national title or two. I don't see him saying Meyer sucks or fire Meyer.

I love how Saban was upset with 24 points and gets rid of Kiffin mid post season lol...

Yet we hang onto our offensive coordinators for 2 years haha
Lane was late to several team meetings and media events. That's the reason why Saban kicked him out "mid post season" as you put it. According to an ESPN article, Kiffin wouldn't have been allowed to come back next year. And he made a joke saying there isn't any fun at Alabama. And that he couldn't recall any fond memories, only "ass-chewings." He also said that the Kiffin-Saban marriage was over (not a joke). Make of that what you will.

When Schiano was asked about the 2 year commitment, he said he didn't know anything about it. I suspect the two year commitment was more for the start of his tenure at tOSU than now. I haven't heard anyone mention this after the initial states of Urban Meyer being hired by tOSU. I would be very interested in knowing if anyone else has?

If you don't think that Urban is as "cutthroat" as Saban, you should watch him threatening a reporter with revoking his priveleges while at UF. I don't think that part has changed. He just learned to handle losses better.

At a place like tOSU, I feel frequent turnover should not be considered a problem. But I felt Urban hired Beck to avoid staff turnover as much as possible. I guess time will tell whether he still feels this way. If someone wants to leave after 1 year, recruit them (yes, the coaches), get them back if possible. But to retain someone in spite of non performance for the sake of the 2-year obligation is not optimal... I feel.

Urban knows more about personnel than I ever well, so take the above with a pinch of salt.

At this point, I have complete and utter faith in Urban.
