Steelers Prayer this week

love or hate the steelers, Bettis is one of those guys you have to like. He is a class act, and a hell of a good player. I really hope that he comes back to Pittsburgh next year as a RB coach, he has been a great mentor for Willie Parker, and if Pittsburgh drafts a RB (L. White, please, please, please) he would be a great person to teach a rookie the ins and outs of pro football.

I hate the Steelers as much as anyone, but I would agree with this. I would love to have Bettis and Hines Ward in a Browns uniform. Two guys who leave it all on the field and have a loyalty to the team and town.

And what does god say about winning teams crying about officials and conspiricy? Maybe we should ask Joey Porter about that

I'll be the first to admit that Joey Porter should have just shut up as opposed to saying what he did. I'll also be the 1st to say that complaining about calls is useless and not worth your breath. BUT... The call in question was so erroneous that I can see why, after a battle like that one turned out to be, he could spout off the way he did. You say things in the heat of the moment that you wish you had just kept to yourself. Porter has even said he should have just shut up and waited to speak to reporters. If the league was as obsessed with what he said as all of these whiners are they would have fined him. Instead, they apologized to the Steelers publicly about the blown call and ignored the rest of his comments as heat of the moment type stuff. Can't we get past this?

It seems to me the only people continually talking about Porter and his complaints are Browns/Bengals fans who, yet again, will be watching anybody but their team play in the Superbowl. LET IT GO.

Anmd the only people still talking about the supposed Chad Johnson thing is Steelers and Browns fans. If something so bad happen why hasn't the league done something? So right back at you....LET IT GO

It's amazing that, in a matter of a couple years, the Steelers have gone from my second most hated team to my second favorite (Yes, I am a Browns fan...and will be, regardless of their record).

Roethlisberger brought me to tolerate Pittsburgh, but my affection for that team grows with each sweet tear that falls from the face of you Bengal fans! Please continue to be bitter and make excuses, it only reaffirms Cincy's rightful place on the NFL totem pole.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Steeler's thread, uninterrupted by Bengal jealousy.

I am a Bengals fan and I have nothing against Pittsburgh. They won the game life moves on. I even used to respect Cowher until I saw the HBO clip from the locker room after the game. After his Who Dey, We Day spiel (which is fine and dandy) he then gave the game ball to Kimo for the biggest play of the game. IMO Cowher lost all shreds of respectability with that action.

Yep, you got me there! I have been talking about Chad Johnson this whole thread. I have been unable to say anything in this thread without bringing up Chad Johnson. In fact, now that you mention it- I realize deep down that I hate the Steelers. I'm so glad you were here to point me in the right direction. Oh, where would I be without you great Bengals fans to point out how great your team is and how horrible the Steelers are?

Oh yeah- thats right, I remember now- I didn't bring up Chad Johnson once. The Bengals have had exactly 1 (ONE) playoff game in the last 15 years-- and lost. I think that says all that needs to be said.

I know, I know 'the Steelers only won because they cheated'. The message has been pounded home over and over now. Maybe NFL films will put together an expose piece showing how evil they are. Maybe they will show those secret pictures of Bill Cowher shaking hands with Osama Bin Laden. I hope they also show the part where Pittsburgh engaged in a Republican-sponsored conspiracy to take Palmer down so the population of Cincinnati can be punished for voting against the evil bastard Bush. They would also, I'm sure, show how Big Ben is merely a puppet-quarterback, controlled by the Pentagon in their never-ending efforts to rig all American sports only so they can win big on sports betting to fund a super-secret spy agency deployed to ruin the life of every Bengals fan. In fact, I would not be surprised to see congress initiate a round of hearings to discuss the validity of disbanding the Steelers altogether; dispersing their assets evenly amongst all of the other teams and banning any of their players from ever playing again or to ever make it into the HOF. That may be hard to pass in the Republican Senate, though. I also seem to remember a photo showing Terry Bradshaw holding a rifle in one hand and the Cincinnati phonebook in the other, too. Lynn Swan is known to be one of the founding members of Pittsburgh's notorious Crips gang. The terrible towel is a reference to awful locker room hazing rituals practiced by KKK members during the height of the civil rights movement.

Are there any other conspiracy theories out there that I could have missed. I'm sure you can come up with something witty about how horrible the Steelers are, or how dumb I am, or something. Just remember: all submissions need to relate back to the obvious superiority of your precious Bengals. Aside from that, everything is free game. Please, please, please, please WOW me with your never ending wordsmithing about the Evil Empire that is Steeler Nation. :)

Hey Bengal's fans, look at the bright side, you still have Jon Kitna. I mean, it could be worse. Your backup could be Tommy Maddox.

For you jealous Cleveland fans: the Browns had their chance to draft Roethlisberger, but they thought a Tight End would suit them better. What was thay guy's name again?

In the meantime, we'll just celebrate our AFC Championship, alright?
