Star Wars (May the Force be with you)

http://starwars.com/news/the-legendary-star-wars-expanded-universe-turns-a-new-page.html
In order to give maximum creative freedom to the filmmakers and also preserve an element of surprise and discovery for the audience, Star Wars Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same story told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. While the universe that readers knew is changing, it is not being discarded. Creators of new Star Wars entertainment have full access to the rich content of the Expanded Universe. For example, elements of the EU are included in Star Wars Rebels. The Inquisitor, the Imperial Security Bureau, and Sienar Fleet Systems are story elements in the new animated series, and all these ideas find their origins in roleplaying game material published in the 1980s.

I hope they figure out a way to put Gollum in SW7. Darth Gollum, or something.

Gotta assume that Von Sydow is the new behind the scenes Sith Overlord, right?

I didn't read any of the books, so I don't know how plausible my idea is. But what's up with "there can only be two: a master and an apprentice" crap? Give me a whole army of siths. Maybe one master of all of the siths, but why not have 500 or 5,000 siths wreaking havoc all over the galaxy? Maybe that's where Palpatine went wrong - after the jedi were all but exterminated, he sat on his throne and just had his one cronie to worry about. He should have been overseeing the training of MORE siths. Maybe the empire's power would have reached to Tattooine long before Luke grew up, and they would have discovered him and converted him (or destroyed him) at a far younger age.

Anyway, that's my vote: have a bazillion siths destroying the gungans. And find a way to fit Crocodile Dundee in there, too.

If I remember correctly, the Rule of Two exists because if there was an entire army, they would end up turning on each other. In essence, you can't have an army of Sith because the Dark Side of the Force corrupts to such a degree that they would never get anything done because they would be killing each other. Even in the Master-Apprentice relationship, every Sith Master claimed his title by killing his former Master.
