Star Wars (May the Force be with you)

I think they are going to do everything they can to make the first new trilogy good. Disney spent too much to ruin the Star Wars brand with a [Mark May]ty Episode VII. If they want a good return on investment they need to make the next three movies better than I, II, and III. That's why they need to find a director that thinks Jar Jar was the worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars.

Opening scene of Episode VII should be an attack from an unknown force on Naboo in which the Gungans are slaughtered. Would win the audience over immediately.

This video confuses me. Not sure if I should be sad, amused, turned on, or disturbed.

Hey Chewie, at least you get a mention. Looks like one the princesses want you.

I have not read any of that series, so I will reserve judgement. I just started Thrawn Trilogy, though. It's pretty badass.

yes it is. loved that series and wish this was the direction the movies were going

I'm reading the 20th anniversary edition of Thrawn. It's really cool because it has margin notes from Zahn with tidbits and reasons for why he wrote certain things in a certain way.

I might have to look into that. From some of Zahn's later additions to the EU, I always had the feeling he did not like some of the directions other authors (e.g. Anderson and Kube-McDowell) went with the characters--especially ones he created. I would be interested in seeing if his notes reflect any of this.

Certainly, Zahn stands above the other authors in the EU; however, I also enjoyed the contributions of Stackpole and Allston.
