I just hope that, amid all the crass commercialization and buying of presents, we don’t lose sight of the true meaning of St. Bill Martin’s Day.
Very true. It's a day that should be spent in serious quiet reflection and expressions of gratitude. We should gather our children and grandchildren around us so they too learn of the blessings of St.Bill and learn to share in the bounty we have received because of his magnificence.
Teach to them what we say in reverence to give our thanks.......

It is unheard of for a university athletic director to not extend a coach's contract in the final year.

You know what else is unheard of? Going sailing and ignoring your phone when your top coaching candidate's agent is frantically calling you about the job because it's do or die time. Or waiting until after the bowl game to fire a coach. Or emailing fans like you're a drunk message board commentor.

So, yeah. I don't trust that Michigan's athletic department is down to earth enough to handle this the right way.
All these years later and st bill's memory lives on. No Saint has ever deserve their canonization more.

... and Willahelm begat Richardus, and Richardus begat Bradus, and Bradus begat James ...

In this season of thanksgiving, and the wonder of our many blessings, I find myself reflecting upon one of the lesser know works of Michelangelo.
