Spring Weight Loss Drive

I'm in. I'm about 6'4" 270. ugh

I was going to the gym 3 times a week, but have been slacking off. A little peer pressure might help.

Being a programmer requires I sit at my desk all day. bummer.


BTW, somebody get those girls a sammich!

Brutusbabe, what do you take for that initial shot of energy in the morning?
A shower..... with really hot water and a shower gel that has a smell that wakes me up, no sweat pea or vanilla. Then right before I get out I turn the hot down so I get lukewarm water. That small jolt of chill does the trick.

I was right at 5'10" 200 lbs. after Christmas time. I started working out again and got down to between 175 and 180. Now I have to try and redistribute that weight, into something resembling my former studly self from college.

diet

I posted a thread on here about a month and a half ago asking for diet tips....since that time, ive dropped 16 lbs......I got a membership at the local universal gym. I quit drinking pop and started drinking ALOT of water. at the gym, i dont do alot of heavy lifting, but just enough to feel it. I do at LEAST 30 mins of cardio a day. I cut back on the carbs(not cut back all the way, u need carbs in ur diet) and started taking in a good amount of protein. The biggest thing was just getting off my ass and getting started. I love it, and every week when i weigh myself and see that ive lost since the last time, thats extra encouragement.

OK, I have been draggin my feet long enough. When I started this thread I wanted to lose 32 pounds. I only have 34 left to go.

Here is the list I put together from scanning through the posts. Let me know if there are any changes and I will sticky this to the top. Anyone else who wants to sign up is welcome. The "lost" column is weight folks had dropped before this started - but I thought their efforts should be recognized. I will probably make that a third column once I get started.

I left osugrad21 off even though he said he wanted to lose 5 pounds. Five pounds doesn't require a diet - that is just his way of making the rest of us feel like fat slobs.

ok, add me to the list. I want to drop 82. I am down 9.5 since we first started this, and as the "What did you have for lunch" thread pointed out... I haven't been trying very hard :(

My problem has always been portions, and when I eat, not so much what I eat.
