Spring Football - 2005 (mega-merge)

In an ideal world that would be wonderful for you, in a bcs world preseason rankings actually matter... and that sucks
Actual preseason rankings matter. Not espn bullshit retardo rankings. Besides, with our schedule, winning is all that matters. There's no way if we beat Tex"ass", Iowa, and Michigan, along with everyone else, that we don't play in the title game - schedule hard, and you can say "preseason rankings be damned."

I hope OSU is rated lower than we'd all expect. I'd rather take people by surprise.
It will be hard to sneak up on anybody after we beat the #2 and #4 teams in the first 4 weeks of the season. But that will take care of the ranking, you would think. Hopefully, Tennessee loses a game during the reg season. Other than them, I don't worry about anyone else getting between us and USC by the end.

Same lame ass list we get every year. There are about 30... maybe 40 teams that rotate in and out of this list over the course of time. USC going to be good? What a shock.

Oh, I almost forgot, it's probably about time for the talking heads to start in on how the big ten is down this year. (Michigan and Iowa notwithstanding)

For some stupid reason... they've been talking about the Big Ten being "up" this year.

Why? Because the retardo losers at ESPN see good skill players.... never mind that Michigan doesn't have enough linebackers of Scholarship to run a 3-4... and a whole new defensive backfield....BUT they've got a young up and coming QB... and that makes a football team.

Anyway... either we beat Texas or we don't.... so there will be no sneaking.... There is a prime time statement game to be played all the cool kids are going to spend the next 3 weeks jumping on the bandwagon of the winner...

This was extremely good news to me yesterday. Especially about Trepasso - he did great when backed up in his own end zone (not that we will ever put him there this year) and showed he could deliver under pressure. I had expected Huston to stand out after hearing Nuge's comments about him last season.

Too bad Dukes muffed so many - he might not get another shot for a while.
kind of surprised to hear Gonzo was returning kicks too, but could be a great choice.

Not too concerned about the blocked kicks - how many have we had blocked since Tresel has been here? I can only remember the Purdue one in '03.

I would have to say they were back there because Ginn and Holmes were sitting down.....I doubt we see Gonzo on kick returns his whole career.

Not sure of the number, but I remember a blocked punt vs Iowa 03 and Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl 03.....off the top of my head.

i predict that troy smith will tear it up in this game, despite the fact that he doesn't have teddy.
I don't think TS NEEDS Teddy Gone. I don't remember the rosters, but TS needs receivers who can catch his passes. He has the scrambling ability to give his receivers time to get open. Besides, I'd like to think that TS doesn't look at the number on the jersey before he passes it - only the color of the jersey. (He's not color-blind, is he?)

ok, I have revised my plans a little bit.

I should be getting there earlier, I am hoping by 8:30 or so. Hopefully I can get a spot close to everyone else. I am bringing as I said 24 Cokes (plane old regular Cokes), 3 packs of dogs, and some hot dog and hamburger buns and chips and junk.

I will probably throw a few gloves and some balls in the truck as well, for entertainment.

Oh and I might stop and get a couple of dozen doughnuts for breakfast. Depending on how hard the kids are to get up in the morning.

My question is, who is going to look stupid on this one(if I had to bet, it would be May):

Maisel has LSU at 18

May has LSU at 3

Also, is it really a coincidence that it's also both of these douche bags who left Teddy G. off of their Heisman lists?

Most of you know this, but I'll bring it up anyway.

WATCH THE OPEN CONTAINERS!!!!

I know its only the Spring Game, but Quaker Oats Bitch will likely have her booze squad goons on patrol. I guess she's worried that we'll lose and start turning over cars and shit.
I guess it's more fun to keep spewing myths than accept the facts.

Holbrook is simply enforcing the law, as was impressed upon her by the legislature that allocates millions of dollars to OSU annually. If you want to keep pissing your pants over it, try voting for some politicians who don't think it's their job to control your every action. They, not Holbrook, made the law.

From what I have heard the rain won't start until after the game. Then again meteorologists have known to be wrong more often than not. 3-4 tents are better than none. I might be able to bring 2 maybe a third if my buddy doesn't use his this weekend.
You might have more to deal with than rain.

Saturday: Windy with periods of rain. Thunder possible. High 48F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

I'll sit thru stuff like that for a real game, but an intra-squad game in April? No thanks. I'm not driving 400 miles to deal with those conditions.

Have a few for me. :wink2:

So they're gettin' a late start this year huh?

And I, not you, have to deal with the public backlash as an employee of the university. Funny, that the deputies and CPD working the games, who sit in the meetings concerning this witch hunt, say the directive is from Holebrook.

Yes, open container is an Ohio law. But the way its being enforced is through entrapment.

If he muffs one in a game I guarantee he still returns it for a TD. Coverage will be yelling "BALL!" and diving and Ginn will have recovered and be 10 yards downfield.

Nice... real nice!

ST was a question mark for me... but it seems to have turned into an exclamation point.

I'm down to one question at CB and one at DL. Maybe they can get answered Saturday.
Maybe he should just muff them all then :wink2:
