Spring Football - 2005 (mega-merge)

Just a quick update. I have added everyone that has PM me or replied to this thread positively to my buddy list to keep track of everybody that is interested. Not counting who will be coming with the people on this list we have 16 so far. 1 guest apiece equals 32 and I know I am bringing at least 4 people so this could turn out to be a pretty huge event. This is great.

Those of you interested try to spread this idea around BP to people that may have not seen the thread.

I might be able to pull off a special guest. I won't say who yet but everyone there will be thrilled if I can pull this off.

Basically, as long as we don't ask for a set price, and it is reinforced that it is a free gift for registering with buckeyeplanet (as a temporary deal at the spring game) I think we could probably be ok if we're only making like $5 from the stingy donations I doubt anyone would complain. A high-quality color 8x11" print, dvd case and dvd is very reasonable for $5. And that is if you are valuing the dvd media with nothing on it.

Couple of ideas, maybe we should get someone to get a downloaded, local version of buckeyeplanet so that people could browse and see what the forum is like.

Obviously if we showed some key threads like the Gwaltney thread, the ESPiN category, the daily tOSU news articles (3yards'), some of our multimedia stuff (wallpaper, dvd case), and such we could probably make some people realize what a great website it is and would feel better about making a donation to a website they've never seen (fi the dvd wasn't enough). Just another idea if we don't go with the color laser printer idea (which would allow us to print an absurd number of prints for a lot less than other efforts, like my personal bubblejet printer).

Just let everyone know that Clarity in no way shape or from has given permission on this yet. I asked him for his comments and concerns on this and I will want to address those first to get his go ahead.

I mean regardless we can get together and have a great time. But as far as using Buckeye Planet as a means to donate money (even though profits will go to the site) has not been approved. So lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. I will let everyone know when I have heard from him, so we can straighten out any problems he has with this.

Agreed. I could work on a banner design, since even if he's against donations I think it would be okay to have a buckeyeplanet banner for hanging out beneath.
I actually thought he might be against the banner more than the donations. HE WILL GET MONEY WHETHER HE WANTS IT OR NOT !!! :) Never thought I would say that. I am sure he will be happy to get server $$$.

Either way tho, the business card w/ dvd question remains.
The easy answer is, keep them separate. Have your BC's sitting in one place, the DVD's in another. Let them take both. Put a big sign saying, "FREE!" above the BC's and they'll take one for sure. No body passes up something free.

BFS, The more I think about the dvds, the more I get worried about the possibilities of trouble arising. ABC is no one to mess with and no matter what you charge and or give them away you still would be distributing them which is illegal without buying the copyrights. That equals jail time and fines. Besides that it wouldn't really show off your talents besides the covers. Wouldn't some prints and or a calender be a better idea? Just a thought. I think if Clarity has a problem with any of this would be the DVD selling. I think shirts and posters and calenders would be great. This is our first time out, we could add more if we decide to do this kind of thing for the regular season.

Does anyone know if it is too early to purchase tickets to the Spring Game? If so, when do they become available. Also, can they be purchased online? Sorry for all the questions. Too bad if we don't do the DVD thing I was looking forward to grabbing one of those, but I understand the concerns.

Hangonsloopy.com will have tickets on sale probably in the next few weeks or so. If you want a DVD, PM BuckeyeFROMscUM. I am sure for a reasonable price he can hook you up.

Those t-shirts look sweet!!!! I gotta have 2 of em red and a black one I would prefer short sleeve though. I am not much of a fan of the longlseeve. Hook me up brother.

The fawcett center will be great. I dont think to many people will be tailgating for the Spring game guys so their should be plenty of space. I can smell the hot dogs burning in the air now !
