Spring Football - 2005 (mega-merge)

It might work better if some others like gost8 and others bring the dvd copies, and I bring the printouts. All of the money could go towards a donation to this site.

Just thought of another idea. Is there anyone out there who owns one of those cigarette-lighter outlet converter so you can plug regular two prong plugs into it? I could bring a laptop and my printer, and plug in the printer, and run off extra copies as necessary. That way we could buy extra boxes of dvd cases and then return them if we don't need them.

Does anyone have a laptop with a dvd burner? I might know a guy I could get one from... but if someone else had one that would be helpful. Or an external burner, that would work too.

If there could be a way we could avoid having to premake all of these dvds and cases that would be helpful so we don't end up wasting resources.

Thanks,
Josh

So how does the Spring Game work, exactly? When do you arrive to get good seats? I know it's first-come first-grab. I'm actually dying to go this year, but I'm kind of apprehensive as I don't know what to expect.

And another thing. *deepbreath* Ihaveneverbeentoagameattheshoe. There. I know, it's horrible. I don't even know where you park.

Enlighten me, please?

I'd be opposed to paying anything much over cost, unless my payment includes a BP donation. Not to be a jerk or anything, but I could survive without the DVD. I was fortunate in that my roommated didn't fuck with the DVR that day. Plus, after I get my tax return, I'm gonna get a video card so I can dump stuff onto my computer.

The device you're looking for for your cigarette lighter is called an inverter. I work at RadioShack, and I can tell you that the one you'd need out of the ones we carry runs $100. This is it:

http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=22-146

If you want, you could pull a Rent-A-Shack, buy the thing, use it at the tailgate, make sure nobody spills any beer on it, and return it afterwards. RadioShack has a pretty lenient return policy. (I didn't tell you that though. :wink2: )

Bring some good walkin' shoes, because you probably will not be parking anywhere near the stadium. Also, bring extra underwear, for when you see the inside of the 'Shoe for the first time!!!!!

All of the profit from dvd sales would go to BP. I wouldn't want to make money off of this (if I did I would be selling these online).

In fact I really wouldn't be very motivated to set something up like this if it wasn't to help raise money for this site. A new server is not only inevitable, its in dire need. We're way past recruiting season and the server is still pretty full.

In terms of the rentashack, we might have to talk further about this

For shame. Nothing beats seeing a game there. You thought it was fun to watch at home, ohhh man. Although the spring game really isn't that exciting, it's still football in The Shoe damnit. I usually jsut park at an Apt. complex for some dough, just easier that way.

LRA, I drove down from WI for three games last season and had soooooo much fun! If it's worth that all-night drive, I think you can find your way from Marion. :) Signage was great for parking - I had zero problem figuring it out the first time, and didn't even find it to be a problem for The Game - just a slightly longer hike.

Now, if you ever go to a game at Purdue... talk about making things more difficult than they need to be...

Lol, I was there for Holy Buckeye... we parked on the golf course and then walked across it to get to the stadium. I couldn't decide which was more absurd, but either way we were destroying their golf course :) (edit: I should clarify, we weren't using the entire course but just the outermost edge, but they were not against us being on it at all)

I arrived about an hour late for the Purdue game this year (a guy at Subway said I looked like his daughter - who is in Iraq with both her brothers - so I let him chat as long as he wanted). When I got there, half the signs were taken down and the remaining ones pointed you in a big circle or off in pointless directions. I finally pulled up to the alumni lot attendant, who was nice enough to let me park there. So, nice people, AWFUL setting.
