You kidding?

Herbie has been so far up the USC coaching staff's collective-rectum the past six years his wife calls him "Pete Carroll" when he goes home.

The blue-eyed Buckeye could call a Thursday night game on ESPN8 between the Thumbsuckers and the Bedwetters and would still somehow figure out a way to name drop Steve Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin 15 fucking times each.

Re-fucking-donkulous.

I haven't seen a national publication such as cfn that gushed over Pryor before the 2008 season anywhere near the extent that Cirminiello gushes over Barkley in that article.

QB recruit Terrelle Pryor will help continue OSU's dominance - Dave Curtis - College Football - Sporting News

Five reasons Pryor will help continue OSU's dominance:
1. Speed. His 40-yard dash times have occasionally dipped below 4.4 seconds. Troy Smith, the last Buckeyes quarterback with good speed, won a Heisman Trophy and played for a national title.
2. Size. Add a 6-6, 235-pound build to that speed and Pryor has Tim Tebow-like physical attributes. And maybe a Tim Tebow-like college career ahead.
3. Strength. At tiny Jeannette High near Pittsburgh, Pryor spent much of his time lifting in quarterbacks coach Roy Hall's two-car garage. Wait until OSU's strength coaches, and their multimillion-dollar equipment, have a year with this kid.
4. Poise. Pryor's recruitment, which stretched six weeks past signing day, had morphed into a circus by its end. After dealing with media and coaches during that stretch, don't expect Illinois' pass rush to faze him.
5. A winning attitude. Pryor went 143-25 as a high school athlete -- 45-7 in football, 98-18 in hoops. Ohio State is 66-11 in the past six seasons. Seems like a perfect combination for some national championship crystal.

No way Jose', Herbie is a Florida fan isn't he.

Absolutely with regard to the program itself. But as far as specific players it was Tebow (along with every other talking head).

Herby is done with Tebow now. It's Matt Barkely. He even mentioned the fact that Barkley is blond with blue eyes during the interview. How the heck does that come up?

Yeah, I'm sure the star of ESPN's official conference is 'done' being pimped by their biggest CFB analyst.

This will be a 17-10 or 20-17 game and I'm hopeful that Ohio State comes out on top but I'm just not confident.

Honestly if all we can score is 17 or 20 points then I'll be kinda pissed. I'm not saying we are a lock to win, but I honestly think that we should be able to score at least 3 TD's vs. USC this year. Expierence at QB, talent and depth at RB, a better oline, and replacements to their defense.

Two of our first four possessions at USC were solid. Second drive, got down to first and goal from the five only to end up with a FG thanks to being set back by a false start. Fourth drive, TD pass called back by another OL penalty (holding?) resulting in a missed FG. And this was done with a less-than-dominant OL and without Beanie. If the OL doesn't fuck up, we have at least 10 and probably 14 points on our first four drives and then game follows a significantly different path.

If our OL is as improved as we hope, along with Pryor being much more experienced and the game being at home, 24 points or more should not be a pipe dream.

OSU points scored vs big time OOC opponent and Bowl Opponents under JT by year:

2001
UCLA-6
South Carolina-28

2002
TT-45
WSU-25
Miami-31 (OT's)

2003
NCSU-44 (ot's)
KSU-35

2004
NCSU-22
OKST-33

2005
Texas-22
ND-34

2006
Texas-24
UF-14

2007
LSU-24

2008
USC-3
Texas-21

The average is 25.7 ppg in this situation.

Looking back on a game by game basis I'd say low 20's is about the most we should reasonably expect no matter how improved the offense may be.

Ill go record to say USC can't score 20 points against us with a freshman qb.

Fair assessment considering they probably should have scored only 21 last year. Maualuga's int TD and Boeckman's fumble at the 50 were pretty much gift wrapped 14 points.

I don't care who their QB is, it's the experienced stable of RBs against OSU's revamped D that concerns me.

It would concern me a little more if we didn't return our DL and have players like Hines, Rolle, and Coleman who always seem to stick their noses in the line of scrimmage. Homan is another good run stuffer.

I honestly see this as a defensive battle. Could be a little ugly like last year's PSU game.

Get ready to be [censored]ed. We are going to have a better O-Line this year. If our line is only better then last years bad O-Line, that only means it will be a good O-Line, not great. I do not see our O-Line pushing around USC's D-Line. I am not convinced that our RB are going to be able to run behind a "good" O-Line against USC.
