Cirminiello gives young Barkley an early taste of the Tebow treatment:

USC freshman QB Barkley is the real deal - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN

Since arriving in the spring, it was obvious Barkley was different than any rookie Trojan in recent memory...
Barkley is unique in ways that stand out most to coaches. He's mature beyond his years, competitive and has already earned the respect of veteran teammates. He has a quiet confidence and a swagger that will settle down even the most skittish huddle. And he possesses the instincts and feel for the position that cannot be taught...
He has tested the boundaries of expectations throughout his brief athletic career, meaning you might not want to doubt him...
Now that he's earned his first start a few days before his 19th birthday, things are about to get real interesting for the boy wonder and everyone that follows his budding career.

Couple thoughts:

1) Corp will be alright. He's the next Matt Cassel.
2) I'm sure the 'Shoe will be intimidating for Barkley. I'd be interested in hearing how senior-laden the 'Horns were when they visited v. this very-experienced USC team.
3) Is there any word coming out of the USC upperclassmen on how they feel about Barkley getting the nod? On Sports Radio up here yesterday, the commentators asked Shelley Smith directly about this, and she danced around the question. The premise was that this could very well be a play for the future, and put the goal of Mays and the other seniors at risk. Note: these are not my words. Just asking.

It's USC.

I know they spit the bit in a game they shouldn't just about every year, but no other team in the nation has shown the ability to handle the big game better than USC.

Be it on the road or at home Petey has his teams up for the showcase games and this is the first showcase game of the season.

This will be a 17-10 or 20-17 game and I'm hopeful that Ohio State comes out on top but I'm just not confident.

Herbstriet on the Big Show on 1460 in Columbus right now.

Slobbering all over Barkley.

EDIT USC's practices are passionate and the competition that Barkley faces every day in practice will make SJSU look like a walk through. They get these injuries in practice because they really go at it.

Herby has a new boyfriend. Tebow is going to be heartbroken.

You kidding?

Herbie has been so far up the USC coaching staff's collective-rectum the past six years his wife calls him "Pete Carroll" when he goes home.

The blue-eyed Buckeye could call a Thursday night game on ESPN8 between the Thumbsuckers and the Bedwetters and would still somehow figure out a way to name drop Steve Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin 15 fucking times each.

Redonkulous.
