I'm glad that some of you are able to see the positive in this game. I'm not there yet, and this game is going to take a long time to get over.

It's a surprise that our D forced their "5 NFL running backs" to so many 3 and outs. I wish the D could of stopped a few of those 4th and 1's.

It's amazing that we almost won despite TP not having an outstanding game. I wanted him to run for a first on every 3rd down. ...especially the two 3rd and shorts that led to field goals.

TP got stars in his eyes last night.

The pressure got to him. Sure there were some questionable calls, but TP didn't show up last night (at least not the TP we expected).

He has a LONG way to go to becoming a good QB. He's an out of this world athlete, but it's back to the drawing board as far as QB.

I once heard Freddie Roach, the boxing trainer, say "Even with all the training in the world, once you get hit in the face, you often go back to who you are."

What Ohio State needs to do is beat the rest of their schedule by 50 (like Oklahoma) and by the end of the year everyone will be saying how great they are. If they play close games (like I'm fully expecting next week) it will be just more of the same.

This one hurts for the team because they really played their guts out tonight. This game swung on one or two plays and one or two decisions.

All the obvious would have, could have, should haves aside.... I was there and the crowd was awsome...... got the chills when everyone in my section sang along with "tonights going to be a good night".... I thought it was up untill you know.....any way.... some positives were that it was a big time atmosphere, we have the personel, and our d line has a nasty disposition. Again we have the personel if we can get some offensive rhythm we are going to be good over the next 2 years. Everyone needs to back up off the ledge. This is not a worse loss then Ole Miss at home last year. Not saying we are the Gators but week by week if we get everyone on the same page we will be good by the end of the year. This includes getting better with in the staff and they know this. For what its worth I had a dream we beat Georgia in a bowl game..... which means e would not have the season we wanted. But i dreamt that BC would beat ND by a field goal in 93 so I would bet money on it:biggrin:

whew, where to begin. First, hats off to both programs for scheduling this series.

You know, college football is hopelessly unpredictable. Before last year's game, I would've guessed 18-15 more than 35-3. Before this game, I would've guessed 35-3 more than 18-15. I was truly impressed by OSU's defense today. I never would have believed that SC's rushing attack could be held in check like that for 53 minutes. Definitely had me thinking of horror games of years' past. Barkley showed a ton of poise, exactly as Carroll said he would. He didn't light up the scoreboard, but that was more from OSU's defense than from the pressure of the situation/crowd. OSU's defense really brought it today.

I am perhaps the biggest non-OSU Pryor fan. He is just special. So even more surprising than the OSU's defense tonight was the offense's performance. I knew that the SC defense would do better than those "SC's weakness is running QBs" commentators suspected. But I just don't know. I guess I'll have to go back and watch the game again, but I think Pryor is capable of much more than he showed tonight. I have to think back to Vince Young in 2004 against Oklahoma (8-for-23, 86 passing yards, 16 carries for 54 yards, 2 fumbles, 12-0 loss).

I have to think that part of the problem is TP's approach to big games. When the pressure is on him, he doesn't seem to approach it right (PSU last year and SC this year). When the pressure is off (SC last year to an extent, and Texas last year for sure), he looks more like the special prospect he should be.

Man, that near-blocked punt.

Great game Buckeyes. Shake it off and stay behind your team. Maybe we'll meet again in Pasadena.
Well said, couldnt agree more.:)

Not many words to add.. Hard loss yet damn am I ever proud of this team. There are no moral victories at OSU and I get that but USC is a damn fine team and we came up short.

Positive

- Boom Herron. One day we will appreciate this firecracker
- D-Line - Balls fellas, BALLS!
- Devon Torrence - Way to play a great game
- Cam - Effort Effort 100%. Way to play

The not so Positive
- Pryor played very bad last night
- A lot of bad coaching decisions.. Granted hindsight is 20/20 but giving them the ball back with 1:30+ before half..Yikes. Granted we stop that long run this is not a huge deal.

This may not be a popular thought but the players played well enough win. I think the coaches have to take a big hit for this loss!!

Man do I ever feel proud to be a Buckeye fan. Well done young men. I know it is not going to be easy but there is a whole hell of a lot to play for. Besides I think when we go to Stink Valley and play PSU they will be a top 5 team and we get another crack... Keep playing hard.

No hindsight on that one, I was screaming "run the damn ball" from my couch. Obviously those 3 points were huge. I agreed with the 4th and 2 decision last week, but this was bad. Not making these types of decisions is what used to make Tressel so good in big games.

Defense showed exactly why I was willing to give them a pass after the Navy game. For all intents and purposes they gave up 1 touchdown. Obviously they will carry this team.

Offense showed the same lack of any direction or imagination that we have seen for years. USC tried their best to hand this game to OSU, and the offense refused to take it from them.

I didn't see USC hand us a thing. I saw two extremely young teams hyped up on the biggest stage they'll play in other than an NC game making mistakes.

I guess they didnt hand it to us in terms of mistakes. Truthfully I would say our D forced them to hand to us.
But how many times did we get the ball in excellent field position and do absolutely NOTHING with it? We couldnt even get into Pettreys rediculously long field goal range one single time in the second half

Not much to say that has not been said. This game felt like the '05 Texas game to me. Great D that couldn't hang on in the end and too many missed opportunities and mistakes on the O. Overall, a great game and a great but very young team that is sure to give us many thrills over the next couple of months and years. Go Bucks!

I'm not sure it's anything that the coaches did or even the offense in general.

Terrelle Pryor was WAY off last night. Not sure why. Not sure what happened. I haven't seen him that tentative since he got here.

Obviously the loss doesn't just go on one guy. Any guy on that defense will say "well we should have stopped them on that last drive."

It's just that TP needed to be the best guy on the field last night for Ohio State and he wasn't even close.

I'm guessing many of our players and coaches lied awake last night thinking about missed opportunities. For instance:

- Not counting the kneel down to end the game, USC's average starting position in the second half was their own 17 yard line. Their offense scored 8 points.

- OSU's average starting position in the second half was the OSU 44 yard line. Three of those drives began in USC territory. The offense scored 3 points.

- For the game, four OSU drives began in USC territory. They produced two field goals, and two punts. One USC drive began in OSU territory. It produced 7 points.

Our team gave us everything they had last night - fantastic effort. Just couldn't quite knock the Trojans out. :(
