I'm not assuming anything I'm just saying if our defense did stop them they just earned even more respect when I thought it wasn't possible....

The most valiant effort by a defense I've ever seen.
I can honestly hold my head up and say that we gave it our all which is all you can ask for.

Go Bucks!
Our offense may not have helped out enough for a win, but the defense looked like the good ol' Silver Bullets. They are for REAL.

I say tOSU runs the table and gets to a BCS bowl, no NC, because they won't be allowed to by the media because they play in an "inferior league". I miss the days of just playing games and trying to get to a bowl so there was something to cap the season.

So sick of the [censored] of who is the best team ever and x losses to x conference and that's x straight losses to top [censored] teams.

Only stat and trend that used to matter was how many time did tOSU beat tSUN.

Back in oh, pre-2000, losing to USC 18-15 would have been, wow, good close game, now lets focus on winning the big 10, getting to a bowl and smacking [censored] & blue.

Only it seems that in this day and age of crap tv, ratings and talking heads are what matter and brainwash those who are easily taken with dribble coming out of both sides of their mouths.

[censored], my beard is getting gray...

edit - wow p1ss is a dirty word...bet maize isn't censored.

I really agree that people put way too much emphasis on this OOC crap these days. It's stupid. Growing up, the Rose Bowl WAS the national championship. Geh.

Anyway, pre-2000, losing to USC would have been, wow, you lost to USC, lol @ you, losers

I'm not sure whether it was clear on TV, but Duron Carter was extremely close to coming down with that hail mary amidst triple coverage. I'll have the pics sometime tomorrow afternoon (I processed them for the paper, but can't tackle editing now), but he nearly caught it at the top of the jump, and as he landed (the ball was knocked free inbetween).

It's such a game of inches.

If Stafon's knee is an inch lower, they don't score with 4 tries starting at the 2.
If Saine's one hander is just an inch different, he hauls that thing in.
If Boom is crumpled at a slightly different angle, he scores a tough TD. Instead they settle for a FG.
If Pryor's pass is a few inches different to Ballard (early) or Sanzenbacher (late, ended up being flagged anyway), they get TDs instead of FGs.
If Duron's hands are an inch or two different, he might come down with that miracle hail mary.

Cue the FNL movie speech...

Well really, who would want to use that word? :p

There's a drop down list at the bottom left of each screen where you can switch to a non-censoring theme if you prefer.

nah I'm fine. I rarely curse actually. Was feeling feisty and channeling game loss emotions towards tSUN in advance.

Some thoughts. Try to keep it short and clear:

1) Defense (DL, LB, DB): AWE-FREAKING-SON!!! Can't fault the defense for the trojan's last scoring drive. They were on the field for too long to expect them to stop a fresh joe mcknight. Since usc has ridiculous amount of talent in RB position, they have the luxury to keep mcknight pretty fresh.

2) Offense (OL, WR, RB, TE): Can't say enough good things about our OL performance tonight. They have kept Pryor clean for most of the night and have create reasonable crease for Boom to run through. They Definitely have stepped up. I am very proud of their performance tonight.
Our WR corps are formible tonight. Although we really don't have enough to gauge their performance on, but for the most part I think they ran good routes and did a good job blocking downfield.
Boom was great. He definitely ran with more authority in this game. Zoom was equally impressive. Eventhough he didn't have a lot of playing time, he has made the most out of the time he was given.
TE was kind of a non-factor this game in term of receiving. But I thought they held their own blocking.

3) Special Team: Absolutely nothing negative to say about our Special team play. Great kicking by Pettrey and solid punting by Thoma. Coverage was outstanding as well.

4) Coaching: Yes, the game plan WAS conservative, but this game, particularly, NEED to be played in Tressel-ball fashion. I felt we control the game pretty well. The pressure were on usc for the most part of the game until the very last couple min. The only questionable call by Coach Tressel was the 2 TO he took when usc were in position to eventually score their winning TD. The consequence was that the offense did not have any TO left while trying to get to the field goal range for us to tie the game. HOWEVER, I do understand Coach's rationale. Our defense was playing lights out while our offense struggle. Those TOs were taken with the intention to keep the defense fresh to give us a better chance to win the game. The outcome, IMO, is a moot point.

5) Terrell Pryor (QB): Pryor definitely did not play up to his potential. He has tried SO HARD not to be stigmatized as a running QB that he had many forced throws when he can pick up considerable yards to move the chain. I am not questioning the improvement Terrell has made during the offseason on his ability to throw. I suspect that it is more of a mental handicap for Pryor so eagerly to want to prove himself as a pocket passer instead of taking what the opposing defense gives you and roll with it.I hope this game can be a great learning experience for a still maturing Pryor.

That's it for me now. Peace.

OK, several observations from the game:

1. Loudest crowd ever. We did our part.
2. Mistakes killed OSU chances, mistakes by TP, the coaching staff etc (4 fucking delay of game penalties, really?)
3. Not impressed with USC, they will lose 1 or 2 games this season.
4. Very damned disappointed, should have won this game. Just like Texas last year.
5. The defense just couldn't get off the field when they needed to.

Grant Schwartz was inches away from blocking that punt as well, he JUST missed it

[off topic]

Andre Ware is a complete hypocrit and simply a Moron. Last year i remember him saying it was sad and disappointing to see OSU trying to score after we knew we had the win against a weaker team. He kept knocking on OSU for getting "style" points...While today i heard him ENCOURAGING florida to continue blowing Troy out in the second quarter. He honestly said and i quote "Yeah you gotta rack up all the points you can in the second quarter"...."You never know Troy might come back by 30 and be back in the ball game".

With idiots like this in the media its no wonder the Big 10 plays "nice" football and refuses to blow teams out.
