1. California...SoCal especially...is losing population now. Economically and politically it is in freefall....not as much as in Detroit, however. Kudos.

2. LA has been a huge city for 50 years now...so please don't exaggerate how many people from outside areas have moved to LA. There are many that have moved there and stayed and even more that have moved there and moved away, but the vast majority of SoCal residents are home grown.

3. Columbus is a growing city....truly growing with people that are not from Columbus or even Ohio. It must have something going for it.

please don't try to throw up lame BS like this and expect us all to buy into it.

USC has a fantastic football program...although it's appearing more and more like some of its success came directly as a result of cheating. But make no mistake...USC fans in general have no clue about the pageantry and tradition of college football...except for what they see on ESPN Classic. But they're about to experience it. Win or lose, USC will be HONORED to play a great game in the great Ohio Stadium in front of the great Ohio State fans.

You're welcome.
LOL! You cant be serious. Just in LA alone there are millions of non US citizens, millions. People from every walk of life, then throw in all of the people that move there from somewhere else, and stay, and there you have it. mI am a cali native, but BOTH of my parents are from ohio. Cheseapeake and proctorville to be exact.
So, yes there are alot of cali natives, all you have to do is go to a dodger or angel game to see just how many fans of WHATEVER team they are playing attend the game.

I too have a difficult time seeing how Navy prepares you for USC. My concern about the Navy game is not whether we win...we will , but it will be a hard fought game I suspect. My fear is that we will get someone hurt with all of that misdirection stuff.

We will have the edge vs SC in so many areas. The only concern is their use of TEs. I think they are creative enough with the TE to keep moving the chains against us.

That's a lot of confidence to only be concerned about TE's

There are also millions of people born and raised in socal, MILLIONS!!121 Yet, USC still can't draw more than a few thousand to their spring game, so the writer took a cheap shot at tOSU. Deal with it.

Buckyle, read my previous posts, I am not defending the writer at all, just responding to another posters comment.
And yes, lots of people are born there every year, they just happen to prefer soccer.

Don't forget to defend against the fullback out of the backfield. Seems I recollect that the FB scored SC's first touchdown against OSU on that play. Kinda took the heart out of our guys (along with the two OSU td's called back for infractions), that USC would do something so slimy as actually having the FB do something other than block. How rude!

And their pantry full of 5* tailbacks, and their massive OL, DL, and new replacemetn linebackers, plus plus, plus. It will be a great game (and I'm betting a much better game than last year's debacle).

The early loss of Beanie took the heart out of last years team before the USC game. (wonder if the USC people ever got that?) Even with a terrible offensive line Beanie was making plays. The offense was built around Beanie.
There has been talk of Pryor running the option. Would Tress risk the season by running Pryor much in the SC game? After last year's debacle?
Doubt it.
If Pryor isn't Superman we lose, again. (closer, but still a loss) :(
But take heart Buckeye fans. This team with a healthy, improved Pryor, will get to a BCS game. Maybe even the Rose Bowl!

Really? Are you kidding me Taos?

This is like saying that Texas shouldn't have let Vince Young run against us in 05 in the shoe. You don't take way what your best player does best, regardless of the circumstances.

Well after last year I gained alot of hate for USC and I never liked them to begin with. I hope the Buckeyes and Tressel stick it right to USC. We'll see how much they like big ten country.

I feel you, and thats probably going to happen, but I just hope that they sustain it. I just hope they are more mentally stable this year

Haha, I can agree with that man. Really I don't care how we get it I just want the Buckeyes to win...Every game. That's probably not always going to happen but we better beat USC. I think an early lead is very important in this game.

Also we better not overlook Navy before this game, however I highly doubt they will, a Jim Tressel led team isn't known for Michigan like breakdowns :osu:

Sorry for chopping up the quote, but I think that says something important about the Tressel teams, they almost never drop a game they are expected to win. With the exception of 2001 and 2004, the only losses on record have been the toughest games on the schedule (with the possible exception of ILL '07). While we may lose to the other top Big Ten team, and possibly the marquee OOC opponent, we never pull a USC; winning the big games, only to lose to a huge underdog. If we beat USC, I would expect us to win out in the conference. Tressel's Buckeyes do sometimes play down to their opponent's level, but they rarely lose when they are the clear cut best team (NW '04 may be the only time, other than his rookie year). I'd say Tressel's record when playing teams with roughly equal or better talent is well in his favor. Won a few big ones, lost a few big ones; but, generally, if a game's expected to be a close one, JT's boys come out on top. Bring on the Trojans.

I'm working on a wallpaper/poster for this upcoming clash, and need some help from you guys.

The OSU side will have Pryor with Gibson, Heyward, and 1 more defender behind him. Who do you think the 3rd best defender would be? Either in talent or hype?
