I don't know about x-ray Randy, but this is one Buckeye fan who is thinking that we could have picked a better time to have a home and home series with the trojans. Not only does it have the potential to ruin the Bucks season, it has the chance to bring down the rest of the conference.

My concern is not at the skill positions. I think we match up well with USC in those areas, but I'm not feeling any love from the o-line.

I don't think a loss ruins the season. It just means that Ohio State probably would be out of the hunt for a MNC. There is still other hardware to compete for and win (Big Ten Championship, BCS Bowl).

As far as the O-line goes, I agree with you. Let's hope they can pull it together. However, even if the O-line is less than stellar, having a highly mobile QB like Pryor should help to mitigate the damage.

I agree, but his high school team his senior year wasnt very good. His top receiver I believe was only a sophmore.
I guess the point I am trying to make is IMO he tried to force the ball and tried hard to make plays that really werent there.
I seen him play several times last year.

I had heard he lost a lot of his offense after his junior year but I still was a little surprised at some passes he was forcing. I'm sure that factored in though and I think he has all the tools in the world. IMO, I think Corp would give us the most fits with his athletic ability though.

Better than pussying out like Penn State and scheduling no one competitive.

Not disputing the choice of playing USC, just sayin' Tress could have picked a better year... like back when they were in the throes of a seventeen game losing streak vs ND...

How can anyone really be expected to know how good/bad a team is going to be when they schedule them anywhere from five years to a full decade in advance? What happens if Oklahoma should suck in 2016/17, or Tennessee in 2018/2019? Would any criticism of our scheduling be justified?

By the way, Notre Dame's longest winning streak against USC is 11 games (1983-1993), not seventeen...

Hopefully they're done with the inevitable Kiffin-induced probation by then...

But yeah, it's hard to see years in advance what state any program will be in. IIRC correctly, that UW game was scheduled when they were still a competitive team. Their downfall as a program really began with that loss in the shoe back in '03...weren't they a top-25 team going into that game?

Well, they had lost their head coach in the off season, but they did come into the season with two Heisman cantidates. QB Cody Pickett and WR Reggie Williams. They were ranked 17th coming into the season. tOSU, defending Champs, were number two.

Yep, Neuheisel (sp?) gate...remember that. I remember that game being talked up as an interesting matchup...night game and everything. UW's highpowered offense vs, tOSU's stingy D. UW fell apart after the Bucks shut them down.

Obviously they can't. Like Notre Dame scheduling UNC 10 years in advance and suddenly finding themselves up against LT and a decent running back, Kelvin Bryant, I believe.

Just whistfully wishing the Bucks weren't playing them right now. Somehow thought ND had a longer streak.
