I'd be disappointed not to see 'Bino this weekend. Putting Heyward/Worthington at the 3/4 DE spot, and bringing 'Bino and/or Gibson off the edge was pretty effective in the jersey scrimmage.

I doubt he starts, but I'd be pretty surprised to see him sit, particularly if OSU struggles to get pressure on Barkley without him.

That's what I'm thinking. They showed that look alot in the open practice that I went to, but not a ton in the Navy game. I'm thinking they implemented that for use at USC. They could have the line read Heyward-Larimore-Worthington/Wilson with the linebackers Bino-Homan-Rolle-Gibson and bring pressure from both sides. Williams can get a ton of pressure from there as well.

USC loves to use their tightends in the passing game, bringing 3-4 outside pressure would at some point force them to use their tightends to stay in to block for the freshman. That would be a minor victory right there.

Bino over Nate?
No, I was simply tackling how they'll probably deploy Bino. They've lined up Nate all over, 2 man DL with Williams/Gibson outside, 3/4 OLB, 4-3 DE. They even put him at DT vs Texas last year (the forced grounding play maybe?).

I want to see Sabino in on running plays as a normal linebacker, but using that 3-4 look that they showed could be great on passing downs with the number of blitzes that we could bring. I can just imagine true freshman Barkley looking at all the blitzers shown and trying to adjust, only to have a different blitz come and forcing him into quick decisions. THAT will be the true test for Barkley.

But as for 'Bino over Nate in those situations, what do you think about htat Oregon?

Barkley might want to consult Braylon Edwards about the crowd noise,

I remember reading Vince Young once said the 'Shoe was the loudest venue he'd ever heard in his life too, or something to that effect, but I don't remember where that article is.

Right and thats the kind of environment that needs to be created saturday. We've got to be out for blood from the moment SC runs out onto the field till the moment they leave it. Don't let Barkley hear a thing, not at the line, not in the huddle, not even on the damn sidelines when he's on the phone with the coordinators.

Watching the SJSU game, it looks like the Spartans were in a prevent style of defense most of the game! No wonder everything underneath was wide open.

Getting pressure off the edge with Nate and Thad will be absolutely necessary in keeping them on the ground. Sanchez had all day last year to find a target.

Yeah, Matt Barkley. It's going to be just like playing in the Coliseum. You can just imagine that those 105,000+ fans screaming obscenities at you are "cheering you on". When you can't hear yourself think, and your team can't hear you in the huddle--yeah, we're just cheering you on. That's the deal.

Buddy, Ohio State fans have not forgotten our OOC losses. We have not forgotten Florida, or LSU, or you guys last year. Trust me, we haven't. In case you haven't figured it out, we're pretty upset about that. We've just had a few years of abuse hurled our way, and you can bet that we're fucking pissed off about it. We remember you guys saying you "knew what was coming every play" and you had practiced against it before. And, in fact, you can bet that we all read the news saying that you were born to play football and the hardest thing about it is walking up the ramp.

In just a few days now, I think you're going to change your mind. Welcome to Ohio.

I think we will come out a little amped up on offense, and probably stall out on the first drive, and have to punt. USC will move the ball pretty well early, but I think the freshman QB will make a mistake early, leading to a turnover and an OSU early score. USC will again move the ball with ease, but have to settle for a field goal after a fumble on the snap on 3rd down. The crowd will start to get to USC, and Ohio State will build confidence. It won't be pretty, and it will be a struggle and a battle, but with the lines stepping up, our players will get in space and do well.

Final score. Ohio State 44 USC 3
