I don't know if I'd go that far. Aside from last year and 2004, I think they've been somewhat vulnerable on defense for a lot of their run...even with all that star power. I definately wouldn't call them the "best defenses of the decade".

They werent the best every year, but they have been consistently a Top 5 defensive team each year since 2002 minus the 2005 season. I think their 2003 defense and their 2008 defense are some of the best of the decade.

They were only vulnerable during their 2005 season where they sucked on D. Every other year they have been very good on D.

My thoughts on this game: Pryor.

As long as we have Pryor we have a chance to beat anyone in the country IMO. I like the talent on this team, and I honestly believe we have the chance to win a title in Pryor's junior or senior seasons. The talent is there, so I hope we can step it up, play hard, get the 'shoe rocking, and play aggressive.

I gotta admit though that USC's RB's scare the living shit out of me. I have never seen a stable so deep and so talented. I think we can stop them, but it will be tough.

I think it will be a very hard fought close game, and I think we pull it out because of Pryor, but I would never bet against SC if I was a gambiling man.

Thurman Thomas/ Barry Sanders at Okie St.

Pony Express at SMU with Craig James and Dickerson.

This is hilarious.

Yeah, I didn't want to embarrass anybody by going back in time too far.

That train has left the station though, so I'll add

Archie Griffiin/Pete Johnson
Doc Blanchard/Glenn Davis
Red Grange/Whoever Red Grange's backup was
Marcus Allen/Charles White

And another contemporary group:
Marion Barber III, Laurence Maroney & Gary Russell at Minnesota.

Since you're only 18, I guess it's time to backup the salt truck...
