I'm up in Powell and it's starting to snow pretty damn hard at the moment. On the Northwest side of Columbus they are calling for 4-7 inches. They say it may drop at 1-2 inches per hour a little bit later, that's damn hard regardless where you live. I'm from northern Ohio so this isn't a huge storm, but 1/2 inch of snow in Columbus makes people drive like assholes.

It took me a long time to make it home tonight. The outerbelt was moving at about 45mph. The worst is the idiot who has a 4-wheel drive truck or SUV and have to drive 80 mph so they can show-off to everyone else how fast their rig can go in the snow.

They're worse than the slow drivers.

Couldn't agree more. Last year when we were driving back to Ohio we got caught in a snowstorm around Akron. All the vehicles in the ditch were SUVs. I was laughing my ass off. Them flying by me on the icy roads really freaked me out. :pissed:

It quit snowing here already.

On the radar it looks like the storm is breaking up. Maybe it will swirl back around and get us again but I don't know.

I barely have an inch on the ground here at Casa de Thump.

I was in Columbus on Monday and had lunch with some friends. We were comparing weather stories at one point and I told them how once years ago we were heading back to West MI from Columbus, stopped at the Graeter's in Dublin on the way out and told the lady where we were heading. She told us to get a hotel room because of a bad ice storm. Well, it was solid ice from Findlay to Toledo. We had an AWD vehicle and took it easy. At one point we started counting cars in the ditch. Every one was a SUV. Our only problem was there was so much snow in our driveway we could not get the car in so we parked it in the road.

Well, we ended up with about a half foot of very heavy snow. My snowblower would only handle about a four-inch wide strip of snow it was so heavy.

Schools are cancelled and people are driving like idiots. I'm listening to the scanner and there are SUVs sideways on the road, into the guardrails, and in the ditches along the interstate here. Yep, the calls were specifically about SUVs. You know, you have one of those and you can drive anywhere, but usually you are going sideways.
