My wife and I ended up off the road last night and about went through someone's living room.

We were driving home from my staff x-mas party at about 2am and were cruising along at about 45mph about a mile from our house and did a 360 down the into someone's front yard and narrowly missed a huge tree, a mailbox, and the car stopped rested against their front porch. My wife was scared to death, I just held on tight for some kind of impact. I was able to push us out but the road was an entire sheet of ice and I could hardly walk on it. There was a car just down the road off of the road in a field and they saw us almost slide into the house.

The roads went from no ice to toal ice instantly.

Glad you guys are okay. That was one thing I hated about living in Columbus - ice. At least in NE OH and here in West MI we mostly get either snow or rain.

Yikes, Thump! I'm glad you two are okay.

We went from 1 to 4 inches of snow between Texas halftime and the third quarter of the USC game. I had been planning to go out for the VT/FSU game, but stopping for red lights was far trickier than it should have been... glad I decided to head home, instead.

I live SE of Columbus so we got a little more ice than the people up in the city. You couldn't even see it. The gravel was even slippery on the shoulder of the road as it ws covered in ice as well.

I don't think the wife's car suffered any damage but we'll see today. I know the people's yard we slid into has huge ruts in it now. What I can't believe is that the people didn't wake up while we were out in the front yard trying to get the car out.

Wow Thump, that's scary stuff. Glad you two are ok

My buddes and I took a cab home from the bar last night cause the sidewalks were so slippery. We saw people eating cement left and right. Roads are perfectly clear today

Ya know Thumper... it's times like that .. that you know there must be a purpose for you and your spouse.. cuz if the man wanted to take either of you out... you were only 1 second from the tree or the house...

say a prayer of thanks... and know that your future has a divine plan... last night was just his way of telling you...

Since when does 3-5 inches warrant a Heavy Snow Warning?

BTW, just watch the news tonight to see how many of the reporters are standing in front of a salt pile as I'm sure every news will lead off with "White Death Approaching" or some inane shit like that.

Or maybe people hording groceries at the grocery store.

One thing I never understood is that during a blizzard, you are stuck at home, the cable is out, all you got is local stations...and the local stations keep talking about the blizzard...so there\'s nothing to watch.

thank god for the internet.
