Too bad they didn't try one last cheap fare blitz. There was talk of trying that option on Wed. of this week, the new CEO said no (as the writing was on the wall).

I was ready to jump on some cheap fares Wed. morning... guess the days of the weekend trips for next to nothing are over...

Passengers stuck on one-way trips

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A Skybus pilot on the Biloxi flight informed travelers of their dilemma even though the company hadn't announced its intentions yet, saying he couldn't take off in good conscience knowing that some families might be stranded.
They were given 20 extra minutes to decide whether they wanted to board.

The same wasn't true for travelers flying from Port Columbus to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on a flight that left before 8 p.m.
No warning was given as passengers boarded. And when the plane landed around 10 p.m., the normal send-off followed: "Thanks again for flying Skybus. We hope to see you again soon." Passengers also were told to check the airline's Web site for "fantastic deals."

Opening a business when one your of biggest expenses is a commodity that is not stable and by no means follows any supply/demand rational while trying to constantly remain "Cheap" might not be the best business idea... Who would have knew :-)

About 5 weeks before the SC game (so a few weeks ago), there were $150 round-trip tickets (before tax) from Delta or Southwest. I can't imagine rolling the dice on Skybus for anything important.
