SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

... only as long as he wins.
They were ready to be rid of him and actively wanted to part ways sending him to the NFL after 2019.
Then he started cheating. Can he keep the momentum without Stalions? Roster management isn't looking good right now.

If Harbaugh stayed they would probably just revert back to pre 2020 Harbaugh. 9-10 wins a year but not really going to win national titles or even B1G titles. It took the cheating and a perfect climate for them finally to get to the peak, it's downhill from here either way.

If it's Sherrone Moore, it gets interesting, I could see them being stable for a couple of years if he can retain most of the roster. 8/9 win type teams. Year 3-4 of Moore would be the real test for him, either he keeps up being like a pre 2020 Harbaugh or he crash and burns like David Shaw did at Stanford.

Any random non Sherrone Moore hire has the big possibility of making things real messy real quick. Nobody great is taking that job right now with the looming possibility of NCAA sanctions.

Belichick is easily the hottest commodity. Arguably Pete Carroll, Mike Vrabel are higher than him too.

If he's so welcomed back, why after several years of begging for jobs is nobody biting? Only 1 team seems to be seriously interested, despite 8 vacancies.
One of the teams that was supposed to be very interested, according to media, didn't even interview him before hiring their guy.
He's hot on the tv, but it doesn't seem like owners and GMs are impressed.
We'll see if the Chargers will finally be the ones to give him a shot after 4+ years of begging.
Chargers and the Falcons have given him 2nd interviews. And Belichick is not a hot name right now,if so he would’ve had a job by now. He’s seen as hire for tickets as much as Hairball is.
And the Chargers are biting, all he needs is 1 team. From the way it’s looking, Hairball will be an NFL HC before any of the 3 other names.

Now I fully agree with this! Depending on how bad the sanctions end up being will also depend on how well he’s remembered and welcomed back. And also how bad the sanctions harm the program when it compares to OSU. If Day goes on a tear in conference, and they’re also leveled with sanctions on recruiting AND have to forfeit wins, then I don’t see them welcoming him back.

But on a side note, the DFBIA is telling each other that they think scUM pursues Brian Kelly and they’ll land LSU’s talent

Lol it’s funny that they think Kelly bringing his talent that plays no defense and had 3 and 4 losses Kelly’s 2 years there is some guaranteed championships move. Not really worth arguing about that with them though because Kelly is in no way leaving LSU for a scUM program with possible NCAA Sanctions looming

What I think will happen: Harbaugh goes to the Chargers, Minter goes with him. Moore gets a huge HC contract to not go to the NFL, then NCAA sanctions come down and Moore is show caused. Michigan goes through a long rebuild.

What I want to happen: Chargers job goes to Pete Carroll. Harbaugh goes back to UM and signs a contract guaranteeing he can't be fired for getting sanctioned. In October the NCAA gives them a notice of violations. Ohio State puts 80 on them in the Shoe and the NCAA show causes Harbaugh the day after Ohio State wins the first 12 team format playoff. Michigan gets a post-season ban the length of Harbaugh's contract and UM is stuck with him, he loses 5 or 6 straight to Ohio State. Harbaugh's contract is not renewed and the only coaching job he can get is Central Michigan.

They hire Moore, he'll be their football Brian Ellerbe. I can't imagine any decent coach taking that job with so much uncertainty looming.

I think his behavior fits NCAA better.
These shenanigans would be nothing at a lower tier program punching above their weight... say a West Virginia or Miss St or Syracuse.
He could carve out a cult/meme following on the national level by occasionally knocking off a Clemson and having goofy remarks in the press.
Under the spotlight trying to land 5* recruits and be nationally relevant, it doesn't play as well.
Might work better nowhere truth be told. But I just think his actual coaching in terms of X's and O's fits better in the NFL. He's outright crazy and probably doesn't pan out in either scenario, but I'm just surmising the best fit for him.

Whatever the best fit is, I hope the opposite happens because fuck him and all that he did. He's a weird guy with no grip on reality at our arch rival, so I'm really just engaging in offseason banter haha.

Depends whether Falcons or Chargers close first.
But those 3 coaches have been on market for 3 weeks, Harbaugh has been on the market since 2019... and this being his peak, only appears to have 1 team seriously interested.
2nd interviews don't mean much imo.
Chargers are holding 8 second interviews... they're the one team really pursuing Jim, and they're in no rush to secure his signature.
For all the maneuvering about the looming Ono contract, nobody in the NFL is convinced to "act now" or treat the "today only!" seriously. Not even the Chargers. They're shrugging it off.

As an aside, just to put my posts in context...
I think Chargers and Falcons both have "their guy". They're in the negotiation stage.

Harbaugh is trying to expedite and drive up his price with media hype and the alleged Ono contract.
But the Chargers aren't biting, and have called his bluff with the "8 second interviews".
It also appears the Pete Carroll baiting came from inside the Chargers, as a ruse to put pressure on Jim. Pete's inner circle has clarified that he hasn't pushed any NFL teams, let alone the Chargers.

The Falcons are playing a similar game, in this case doing a facetious 2nd interview with Harbaugh and leaking an alleged disagreement between the GM and Belichick.

But in both cases, i think they have made their decisions. It's just a question about terms and compensation.
Both have also perceived that they don't have any real competition for their chosen guy right now --> not going to be sucked into a phantom bidding war.
The draft is still a ways off, playoffs are still ongoing ... neither organization is acting like they need to close immediately. It's more important to get favorable terms, whatever that means to their front office / ownership.

There are decent coaches out there that would jump at the chance to move up to scUM for a big increase in pay. Wasn't Tressell just making something like $60K a year at Youngstown State and he was also their AD when Ohio State hired him?

Without bonuses, Candle is set to make $1.125 million this season, less than $100,000 more than Central Michigan's Jim McElwain ($1,025,420), according to USA Today’s coaching salary database.

A guy like Toledo's John Candle would probably jump at the chance to move to scUM for just $3M - $4M per year; which would be a significant pay increase for him. scUM's challenge would be to find the the "right guy" though. They wouldn't want to hire a "Brady Hoke 2.0".

CUSA: Rich Rodriguez (Jacksonville State), $1 million

Hell, they probably would even be able to get Dick Rod back........

Good luck to Moore getting anyone decent to come be the OC/DC/Other Position Coaches until all this NCAA stuff is cleared up.

They love to jerk off Moore but it was a team effort of Moore and Minter helping Harbaugh get over the hump. Without Harbaugh and Minter what really will Moore be?
