SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

I don’t see Cleveland even saving him now. I think he’s begun to slide into having to be a coordinator somewhere next. Especially if OSU blows him out again. ScUM won’t ever think of firing him, as they have few other quality options in the _ichgan man territory. He would have to leave and maybe be have to restart

I wonder if anyone up there is looking at Ryan Day and saying, "Hey, it doesn't have to be this way. What if we abandoned the whole "Michigan Man" schtick and just went out and got the best coach we could."

Naaaaaaaaah.

Yep. It was a complete disaster, but I have to give that magnificent sumbitch credit for at least trying to think outside the box and force their program into the 21st century. The glory is that it failed so thoroughly, that it virtually ensures they won't leave their comfort zone again and will continue to be a dinosaur program that hires dinosaur coaches. GBYBM, SMSOB

I thought the wheels would fall off -- especially recruiting and retention -- if he couldn't get over the hump in the first 3 years. That's been his timeline everywhere he's gone... and we all saw the media hype he had coming in, got him a couple highly rated classes (media propaganda is effective).

He came close in 2016... Beck and Warinner tried really hard to hand it to him. And then it was all over... everything from then was and is going to be a continued slide into Rutgers territory.
They think he's the "safe" hire because he beats the teams he's favored against... but his recruiting and personality ensure that list shrinks every year.

I did expect him to steal a game off of us, effectively drawing the slide out more than he has. So I'm happy to be wrong on that front.
I also expected the NFL would come to his rescue... but they haven't. And I doubt they will, short of maybe Cleveland.
Who wants to hire a guy who can't even coach College kids well? Whose alienated himself with previous ownership? Who is clearly stuck in the past in a moment when NFL is catching on that you don't need to copy Tom Brady to win games...
Well, he’s too expensive for the Bungles, but the Browns and Cardinals are dumb enough.

Every once in a while I have to post this from MgoBlog when they too thought Harbaugh was an idiot.

So, no, Jim Harbaugh isn't wrong when he says Michigan takes football players who would otherwise not be accepted and shepherds them through majors that are not particularly challenging. No one denies this, but there is a difference between not denying an obvious, universal, and (most importantly) non-harmful tactic that helps a disproportionately minority and poor group of people into the middle class and not denying that Michigan is selling these kids out because they don't care.

as long as it isn't done with online classes, right?

They never gave Rodriguez a chance. Not saying it would have worked, but they screwed him from the beginning. Also, could have been different for him if TP didn’t choose the good guys.
