While I agree most coaches aspire to go pro, what bigger challenge is there right now than turning Michigan around and bringing them "back." I'm sure i'll take heat for this, but if he chooses to go to the NFL over taking the Michigan job, it would look like he was avoiding that challenge.
Now if Luck says he's staying for another year, i wouldn't blame him for staying at stanford. They would have a great chance at a National Title run. Just my IMO.
whatever happens, he probably just added some cash to whatever contract he signs last night.
Consider this the first of that heat. It is amazing to me from this comment and others I have seen on other boards that Michigan fans have such Ann Arbor centric view of Harbaugh's decision. I have no doubt that Jim Harbaugh would welcome the challenge of turning your program around. To think otherwise is to sell him short. Whether he accepts that challenge will be because he will also consider other things such as the effect moving to Ann Arbor that it will have on his relationship with his kids from his first marriage who will not move back to AA with him or how his current wife will view this move or the relationships he has built with his team at Stanford or any of 100 other reasons.
Its call being a grown up.
