Penn State is not Michigan. As a Buckeye I find it hard to realize the love they get from the rest of the academic world. My guess is that a slap on their he wrist is the most we can expect.

But what do you mean? It's not like we've all been saying from day 1 (@NFBuck louder than most) that he'll eventually find some success, but annoy everyone in the process to the point where they'll happily kick him out the door in spite of that success.

Studies have repeatedly shown that when cultists are provided with objective evidence their beliefs are untrue (e.g., the world is spherical, an alien ship is not coming to pick them up, Joe Paterno knew Jerry Sandusky sexually abused kids, etc.), not only do they refuse to change their beliefs, they typically double down on them.

Tsun tried to get away with an assumptive close on the NCAA for a 4 game suspension. The NCAA said "no, that won't do."

Tsun immediately backpedaled from aggressive posture to "ok we will take three right now and please go easy on us from here" posture.

The NCAA took the unprecedented step of publicly denying the false narrative of "it was just a cheeseburger".

I don't see anyway on earth someone gets to the logical conclusion that the NCAA is done here.

It's the NCAA. Their track record is too sketchy.
- They were right on PSU, but instead of appealing to Federal they outright caved and let a politicized PA judge restore the state's honor.
- They had Miami dead to rights, but screwed up the investigation and got themselves into trouble.
- UNC created a fraudulent degree program and awarded fake degrees from it, for over a decade. And got a slap on the wrist.

.... i want to believe they have somebody that is going to unfuck themselves, but that's like believing the next Browns QB is the one.

I think the NCAA is looking for someone to jump on to say "Look we still have the power!" The way scUM is going about this so far is making them a awfully easy target for that.
