SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Hope he leaves.

Sometimes I hear people say "Michigan being good is great for the rivalry".

Fuck that. I want these guys to be 7-4 every year we play and I'd prefer to win the game. If it means an easy win then so be it.

If this makes Michigan worse then I'm all for it.
Only reason I wouldn't want him to leave is we owe him an ass kicking for his talking before he leaves. But some of there fans want to fire him if he interviews that's amusing

I never wanted them to be good. I did feel that we needed them (and the Big Ten overall) to be good--or at least halfassed decent--during the BCS format. After the playoff started (and particularly now with expansion), they can lose every fucking game for all I care.

Why not save the last game of the regular season to beat the shit out of Miami, Ohio, Kent, BGSU? Maybe give Indiana or Northwestern a shit pot of money to move their rivalry games so they can end the season with us? Make sure the seniors leave the field wearing laurel wreaths, make sure the last game of regular season (now known as preseason) is always a home game. Schedule Michigan in early October so the Bucks have time to recover in the polls if they happen to lose.

I saw my first Buckeye game in 1953. I was hooked. My sister taught me to sing "We don't give a dame for the whole state of Michigan," when I was in 6th grade. While I like the progress in the way the game is played, expansion beyond Penn State leaves me uninterested as does the scheduling of MAC level teams. NIL takes out the last vestiges of "scholar-athlete" but that was mostly bullshit anyway. Now the playoffs have reduced the regular season in meaning and value except as entertainment and maybe that is all it ever was. The final blow is coming to see that the playoffs remain squarely the province of the bowl committees. Maybe I become a Bengals fan.

I think Simple Jim might be holding a grudge towards the administration for publicly humiliating him and clawing back his salary a couple of years ago. Now, he's going to rake them over the coals every offseason. The only flaw in the idiot's revenge tour is that he needs to have a successful season every year. First 7-5 year, and they'll be itching to shitcan him. Remember, he's burned ALL his internal bridges at every stop. There's no way that he's not doing (or has done) the same here.

He has all the social pinache of a 2 year old screaming they didn't get the thing they wanted most times.

He's a good football coach apparently but everything outside of that in meshing with a org just doesn't seem like he gives a shit or possibly is capable

Doing this every year can't sit well with current players & prospective recruits. But I get the feeling Harbaugh does not care.
He's never been known to have much of a skill at reading the room...

With his buyout being next to nothing(unless he comes back and restructures), if he doesn't continue with B1G winning seasons than the first 7-5 year gives the admin a perfect opening. The problem with that logic, is that he's the best option for HC that scUM has. He literally has all of the leverage, and he knows it! Even with a 7-5 season, name another scUM man that has name recognition and similar amount of success? There isn't one.

Is next year the year they crash back to reality?

Edwards has speed but he's not that bruising runner like Haskins or even Corum level at that. I really don't think he could take a whole season of running 30+ times a game. Hell they were fortunate Corum made it as far as he did this year. The backups behind him just aren't very good either and the 4* FR they have coming in is another finesse back.

A whole season of having to rely a lot more on McCarthy and the passing game just seems like a mess in the making. If McCarthy goes down they are REALLY screwed too, their backup situation is a walkon and Jack Tuttle.

Maybe Harbaugh is seeing the writing on the wall after that TCU game.

They will be as good next year, but 2024 will probably be a shit show.

I guess we will see. I don't think Edwards fit's that "bell cow" role that they've really leaned on the last 2 years with Haskins and Corum, and the RBs behind him so far have proven to not be very good. So it's not like they have a even somewhat proven commodity to spell Edwards. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

They won't be able to run McCarthy too much either as him getting injured would be a complete disaster with their backup situation.

I don't expect them to go 7-5 though. Their schedule is just too weak for that. They play nobody OOC again and their only real stiff road game is @ Ped State. (Unless you think Sparty has a significant bounce back) losing @ Penn State and at home to Ohio State would be a step back though.

He might be their best option theoretically, but after dealing with this numbnuts for almost a decade, have they just reached a tipping point of saying, "fuck it; anything's preferable to dealing with this guy."

Doubt it. That fan base is still bitter from the RichRod/cHoke era. Hairball bolts and there's no other viable options, other than maybe Bike Hart. And they can talk themselves into confidence about him as HC all they want. But they know deep down that that's in no way close to having Ryan Day as HC

Bike Hart would pretty much be the desperation "have to" option at this point. If Harbaugh bolts the cycle for this year is already over. Unless they pluck some smaller school coach who wasnt good enough to get a upgraded job after this season. I guess they could go with a 1 year in house interim? But that would really screw them in the recruiting department.
