SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

The longer this drags out, the more likely Simple Jim bolts. If this was a negotiating ploy, everything would already be wrapped up.

Same here.

It also starts to make sense when you consider this 'tards *ichigan Man persona.

"I found it in a mess, took me a while but I left it as tsun being "back" defined as beating OSU, making playoffs and having individual awards etc etc etc"

Never mind that it's bullshit. It's how they think.

He got them back and now can duck the harsh reality of what comes next. Peak *ichigan Man.

I'm genuinely torn by this. I really like having Simple Jim up there because we know what he is. Him leaving also leaves open the VERY remote possibility they stumble into someone better. On the other hand, left holding their tallywhackers in the wind this late in the cycle would seem to indicate they would look internally and hire MOB MOVE or Bike Hart, which...come on...how glorious would that be?

Devil you know vs the devil you don’t…torn as well. But I trust them to mess up the next hire.

Michigan football: Jim Harbaugh reportedly discussing new contract

The ball appears to be in Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh's court regarding whether or not he will leave for the NFL. The Wolverines are awaiting his decision on a new contract offer, according to a report by Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic.

"So it's my understanding Michigan and Jim Harbaugh have had productive talks on a new deal/competitive offer-package has been made," Baumgardner wrote Monday on Twitter. "At this point, it's about what Harbaugh wants to do. Michigan, as I understand it, welcomes JH at UM. But some at M wonder if he's torn about NFL."

This is the definition of a win/win. He bolts to the NFL, we get the unadulterated schadenfreude of watching them come to grips with their savior jilting them after finally having a really good season after 6 years of underachievement. Plus, the likelihood that they have to Peter Principle either MOB MOVE or Bike Hart to HC. If he stays and they lock him in on a pricey, long-term deal, we get Simple Jim for the foreseeable future as they go back to overpaying him based on one good season and pray that he doesn't regress to his historical mean.

It's all about his ego. Michigan is sans president, but they don't have to give him a dime if he moves on. What both parties also know is that the Class of 2022 isn't going to twiddle their thumbs while he plays shit-or-get-off-the-pot. We live in interesting times.
