SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Harbaugh has reached out to potential assistants, according to Jay Glazer. FWIW

Florio said on Rich Eisen's show that Miami is not interested (despite the Michigan connection with Stephen Ross).

Raiders just made the playoffs and are playing hard for their guy. Can't see them firing him? But there is history with Harbaugh there.

I thought I saw a report that the Bears weren't interested, despite their history with Harbaugh, but I can't find that report.
I'm terrified of this.

I wonder how much trepidation there is to hire Simple Jim in the NFL after word got out what a difficult asshole he was to work with in SF. Ultimately, his record was pretty damn strong in the Bay Area, though his team full on quit on him in year 4. If somebody wants him, I bet he bolts. I'm not convinced he's all that in demand though.

There may be trepidation, but 7 years is likely more than long enough to make the idiots that occupy most of the team front offices in the League forget all that enough to give him a stupidly large offer. Never underestimate the stupidity of NFL teams/ownership.

1000000% guarantee that Virginia doesn’t remember a fucking thing from this morning, let alone seven years ago.

OK, you got me. Who is Virginia?

Bears owner Halas’s daughter age 99 I think

Virginia Marion Halas McCaskey (born January 5, 1923, age 99) is the principal owner of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). She is the eldest child of Bears founder and owner George Halas, who left the team to his daughter upon his death in 1983, and Minnie Bushing Halas.

Interesting story from Jan 2020 on her:

2. Red Grange used her to sneak past fans.

Pro football was struggling to build an audience, so George Halas, Red Grange and the Bears went on a 19-game, 66-day barnstorming tour to drum up interest during the winter of 1925.

“We made the first part of the tour with my mother and her sister, my Aunt Lil, to help along," she told the Tribune. "And after the games in Florida I think mom said: ‘This is it (for me), you can go on to California.’”

As interest built, Grange became a celebrity, and fans thronged to see the Bears when the team’s train pulled into towns.

If Grange wanted to avoid the crowds, he’d pick up Virginia.

“When Red Grange would get off the train there were so many people waiting to see him they decided I could be his camouflage,” McCaskey said in the NFL film “A Lifetime of Sundays.” “If he wore a hat and carried me off the train, people wouldn’t recognize him. That got him through the crowd.”

3. What she remembers from the 1st NFL championship game: ‘the odor.’
In 1932, when she was 9, McCaskey attended the NFL’s first championship game at Chicago Stadium, where the Bears beat the Spartans of Portsmouth, Ohio, 9-0.

Nine decades later, McCaskey didn’t hesitate when asked for her memory of the game, which was indoors atop 8 inches of dirt spread over concrete.

“Just the odor,” she told the Tribune. “It was almost overwhelming because the circus had just left town.”

The odor in Chicago doesn’t come from the circus, Chicago Stockyards, or meat packing plants it comes from the rotting carcass of a football franchise the Bears. My hope is they get sold but I’ve been hoping that since 2000.

No interviews of Jim Harbaugh yet (officially)

We’re nearly a week into the spinning of the coaching carousel, and there has been no word of any actual interview of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, none of the teams looking for coaches have reported to the league office an interview with Harbaugh. By rule, all interviews must be reported — whether the coach is currently working for another club or not.

No Jimmy, it's not the a NFL team calling you for an interview:

So, he's basically taken off his pants and laid down, legs akimbo, and not one team has called him? That's two years in a row he's tried dipping his toes back in the NFL water and got chased back to tsun. When dumb fuck NFL front offices aren't interested in you despite a pretty shiny record during your 4 year stint in the NFL, chances are you're not that good of a couch, an unrepentant assbag, or more than likely both.
