SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

One of the most respected media members within Michigan circles just provided the best description of where things currently stand with Jim Harbaugh.

His assessment? Nobody knows a damn thing.

As Michigan "insiders" go, author John U. Bacon is about as plugged in to Michigan circles as someone can get. According to Bacon, not even those who are closest to Harbaugh know what his next move will be at this point. From there, Bacon provides what is likely the best assessment of the Jim Harbaugh situation that you'll read all week.

He makes several other earlier posts too including this one:

As it stands, those who know Harbaugh best are saying the least, and are also the least certain which way this is going to go. Harbaugh himself hasn't made up his mind yet, or he would have announced it. He doesn't play games with this stuff. He's not leveraging.

Bacon may be plugged in but he's an inveterate sunshine pumper too. This is a ploy, not by Jimi-he's too fucking stupid but by Jimi's agent/handler.

Not saying it doesn't exist but it would take a special kind of stupid at the NFL level to let 1 year of the last 7 in college change your mind about Harbaugh.

He's still the same asshole he always was and will always be. He will wear out everyone around him in 3-4 years.

Bacon proved with that bullshit book that he's more than willing to be a shill for Simple Jim and the tsun program while attempting to couch it as objective reporting.

Yeah, but unlike a lot of other NCAA head coaches that might be considered for a NFL position Harbaugh does have NFL head coaching experience. I'm thinking that the NFL will put more credence into his NFL coaching record than his college record, i.e. he went 44-19 during his 4 years with the 49ers.

Google: The average tenure for an NFL coach is approximately just 3.2 years. Just one day removed from the final game of the professional football season, five coaches have already lost their jobs, with at least a few more firings expected this week.

Apparently the average NFL coach wears out his welcome in 3-4 years.

You’ve convinced me. He should go.

The number of times I've read "But he was 44-19 in the NFL" from Raider fans online is staggering. These are also the fans that threw a parade when Gruden came back. "hE wAs GrEaT oVeR a DeCaDe AgO!!!"

I get all the positives people want to use but those were all true last year too. NFL head coach tenure, his NFL record etc etc etc. All were just as true last year and, by all accounts, he went begging and was told to fuck off home by the NFL.

Fast forward a year, he beat OSU, lost to Sparty and got ass hammered in a Bowl. What's really changed so much from last year when folks were taking a hard pass?

If the answer to that is "desperation" then it tells you how good of a hire this likely will be.

EDIT
I still say it's a ploy to get more money out of tsun

Harbaugh has reached out to potential assistants, according to Jay Glazer. FWIW

Florio said on Rich Eisen's show that Miami is not interested (despite the Michigan connection with Stephen Ross).

Raiders just made the playoffs and are playing hard for their guy. Can't see them firing him? But there is history with Harbaugh there.

I thought I saw a report that the Bears weren't interested, despite their history with Harbaugh, but I can't find that report.
