SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

and d) It wasn't just Mr Ohio going nuts so much as the entire OSU team clearly mailing it in for the Outback Bowl

Rivaled the bowl loss to Air Force for the two worst demonstrations of character I have ever seen by an OSU team. Both under Coopers watch.

Fuck him to hell

THIS, THIS, THIS. ^^^ He'd lost control. As I've mentioned before, I have a framed copy of a handwritten statement by me, witnessed and signed by my Mother-in-law, that states that I would not watch ANY college football after that New Year's Day bowl games (I was at their place pigging out and we were all watching games when I wrote it) until Cooper was gone. They canned him the next day and I didn't miss any games. If I'd done that in 1992 after Gee made arguably the most humiliating statement in the history of the program about a tie being a win and they'd canned him then, maybe big time coaches would have been afraid to come and we'd have settled for an up and coming whippersnapper from YSU then ...

We bought a keg of booze and drank to old Ohio 'till we wobbled in our shoes. How do you think we celebrated? And we paid for it with money from our pension funds that young, asshole whippersnappers provided through taxes.

Thank you for your service during the War Between the States.

But the Buckeyes will get that lead in the rivalry, and after taking that and the all-time wins lead (now 930-958 counting 2010), the Vulvarines can QTFS.

One of their sacred cows could get slaughtered in the next 12 hours.

A Buckeye win this afternoon and a Michigan loss tonight would give OSU the edge in all time win % by eight one-hundred-thousandths of a point (officially -- with 2010 vacated).

This morning:
UM - 0.72944
OSU - 0.72890

Tomorrow morning, with an OSU win and a UM loss:
OSU - 0.72898
UM - 0.72890

Did not happen, but.....

If Michigan and Ohio State each win their next three games, and Ohio State beats Michigan in The Game, then:

Ohio State .7298
Michigan .7297

It would be so fitting if we became the #winningest by beating scUM in their own house.

Further perspective: Since 1975, where they're played at least 12 games each season, they have exactly one 12-win season (12-0, 1997).
Which means that Michigan has zero 12-win seasons this century. Ohio State has nine.

But that comparison is way too easy. Ohio State has been playing at historically high levels this century; while Michigan has been averaging 4.4 losses per season, which is near their historical norm of 3.6 losses per season (thanks to @Jaxbuck for that research). So of course Ohio State will have many more 12-win seasons than Michigan. That is a given.

But what about the Mighty Wolverines compared to the rest of college football? There are currently 130 FBS teams; 65 Power5 teams; and 14 Big Ten teams (go figure). How many of those teams have had at least one 12-win season this century?

Well, the answers might surprise you. 39 of 130 FBS teams (exactly 30%); 24 of 65 Power5 teams (36.9%); and 4 of 14 Big Ten teams (28.6%) have accomplished the 12-win feat. Here's a complete list with Power5 in bold and Big Ten in red, and number of 12-win seasons in parentheses:

Ohio State (9)
Alabama (9)
Boise State (8)
Oklahoma (7)

Southern Cal (4)
Clemson (4)
Oregon (4)
Louisiana State (3)

Texas Christian (3)
Central Florida (3)
Florida State (3)
Stanford (3)
Georgia (3)
Auburn (3)
Florida (3)
Texas (3)

Northern Illinois (2)
Miami of Florida (2)
Michigan State (2)

Louisville (2)
Missouri (2)
Houston (2)
Utah (2)

Southern Mississippi (1)
Western Kentucky (1)
Western Michigan (1)
Central Michigan (1)
Oklahoma State (1)
Brigham Young (1)
Miami of Ohio (1)

Nevada-Reno (1)
Fresno State (1)
Notre Dame (1)

Wisconsin (1)
Ball State (1)
Cincinnati (1)
Marshall (1)
Kansas (1)

Iowa (1)

In the 18 years of this century (2001-2018), 13 Big Ten teams have had a 12-win season. Michigan has not been able to accomplish that feat (and neither has Penn State, by the way), although "lesser" programs like Michigan State, Wisconsin, and even Iowa have done so. You'd think that an elite blue-blood program like Michigan could at least luck their way into a 12-win season now and then, especially when the likes of Kansas and Okie State and Notre Dame can manage to do it.

As a side note, Urban Meyer was a head coach for 17 years this century. His teams won 12+ games in 10 of those 17 seasons:

2004 Utah (12 wins) (perfect season)
2006 Florida (13 wins) (NC)
2008 Florida (13 wins) (NC)
2009 Florida (13 wins)
2012 Ohio State (12 wins) (perfect season)
2013 Ohio State (12 wins)
2014 Ohio State (14 wins) (NC)
2015 Ohio State (12 wins)
2017 Ohio State (12 wins)
2018 Ohio State (13 wins)
