I’ve gone back and forth on the “devil you know versus the devil you don’t” regarding Harbaugh’s future. I have zero fears of Harbaugh being able to not only coach but even resonate with his players and youth going forward. He’s a fraud. And a weird one at that.
However, I’m ready to see him broken. I want to see them turn on their savior son. I want all the dirt from his years to come out. The antics, the unnamed sources telling all, everything falling down. I want a dead program with no direction and no one wanting to touch it after hearing the horrors.
Then I want to watch them have to answer “what next”...because Woody willing there is nothing left.
The two schools are currently neck-and-neck when it comes to rankings for 2020.
So, they're now taking the Mike Brown approach - "as long as we're making money, we're kind of ok with losing."
The past three coaches have had decidedly different trajectories over their time at ttun.
Rich Rod: 3-9, 5-7, 7-6 (fired while trending upward)
Brady Hoke: 11-2, 8-5, 7-6, 5-7 (fired while trending downward)
Harbrau: 10-3, 10-3, 8-5, 10-3 (not really trending in any particular direction)
When it comes to Harbrau and whether he stays or goes, the question is: are they happy with their ceiling being 10-3?
Standards are a wonderful thing.“Under Jim, the program has rebounded. Seats are being sold, fans are buying apparel and winning and the Michigan tradition make the difference,” said Andrea Fischer-Newman, who served as a regent from 1995 until 2018. “Personally, I don’t think winning a national championship is the end all and be all. Sure, it would be wonderful to win one, but in the meantime, the work Jim is doing on and off the field is what we all should be proud of.”
He had inherited a program with plenty of winning tradition, and perhaps no one knew it better than he. A former quarterback at Michigan under Schembechler, Harbaugh finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1986 while leading the Wolverines to an 11-2 record, a Rose Bowl appearance and top-10 ranking.
It didn’t take long for Harbaugh to restore the program’s luster.
Michigan mega booster Al Glick, who has donated millions to the school and whose name is on the indoor football practice facility, says Harbaugh’s value goes beyond the field.
"Harbaugh is more than a football coach; he is teaching these young men that there is life after football. This is one reason they take the trips (to Italy, France and South Africa) -- some would never have the opportunity to see other parts of the world.
“I hope Coach Harbaugh stays at Michigan until he retires.”
But Glick said he knows fans want more.
“(The) only disappointment the fans have is the same as Harbaugh’s -- they haven’t beat OSU," he said. “I think it is about our time.”
They were happy with LLLLLoyd having 4 losses every year as long as he was flogging Cooper...3 losses a year and being our bitch has decidedly less luster though. So, they're now taking the Mike Brown approach - "as long as we're making money, we're kind of ok with losing."

Yup. That is why they are to be loathed. And here in a nutshell (taken out of the comments section) is the essence of their arrogance.....
"To be fair, UM has the additional challenge of maintaining a world class, highly ranked academic institution in addition to their
athletic program. MSU and OSU don’t have that challenge, considering their mediocre academics and lack of focus on/interest in that component of their universities."
