SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

what other organizations try to fix problems (unsuccessfully) by throwing money at a problem. Oh, yes public education and government.

What happened when Sputnik went up in 1957? Eisenhower threw a shit ton of money at public education and by 1969 the Russian lead in space had disappeared. Throughout the 20th century the state of Michigan threw a shit ton of money at Michigan, and wether we like it or not it became one of the two best public colleges in the US. Ohio spent the same years pissing money away on dorms, Miami and Ohio U. and the result is the gap we see between the two schools.

The US, Ohio and Michigan are no longer throwing a shit ton of money at public education and the resulting deminishing returns on investment are propelling China forward.

This is not the forum for this topic, but it's unreasonable to compare the US and its resources vis a vis the rest the world in the 50's/early 60's to now.

James Laurinaitis made a couple interesting comments during his radio show today. I can't confirm, but he said that multiple people have told him that a) Harbaugh doesn't have staff meetings with the coaches, and b) they don't have a coordinated recruiting strategy at Michigan, the assistant coaches just take it upon themselves on whom to recruit.

Beau Bishop, who James is saddled with as a co-host, suggested it's been Harbaugh's practice at previous jobs not to hold staff meetings. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that.

I don't know if any of it's true, I'm just reporting what was said.

Definitely doesn't help that this goober is their director of recruiting. His resume is pretty unremarkable.

Is that good?

It's alright. It's not elite, but it's OK.
I’ve gone back and forth on the “devil you know versus the devil you don’t” regarding Harbaugh’s future. I have zero fears of Harbaugh being able to not only coach but even resonate with his players and youth going forward. He’s a fraud. And a weird one at that.

However, I’m ready to see him broken. I want to see them turn on their savior son. I want all the dirt from his years to come out. The antics, the unnamed sources telling all, everything falling down. I want a dead program with no direction and no one wanting to touch it after hearing the horrors.

Then I want to watch them have to answer “what next”...because Woody willing there is nothing left.

It's like the age old debate of whether it's better to beat them when they're good or down.
Ultimately, it's all stuff out of my control... and win-win.
I'd like Harbaugh to stick around long enough that we finally see at least 1 QB he recruited and developed, while all the wheels fall off their recruiting, national media eventually turns on him, and finally they turn on him too... along with people like John U Bacon being utterly discredited.

Let's keep the myth going. It gives them false hope and helps them keep Harbaugh. If they can him, the blind squirrel rule says that they might accidentally stumble into hiring a great coach.

I think we're still good for awhile. All the old schmucks that believe in "Michigan Man" nonsense are still hanging around, and will sabotage whoever they hire...

1973 (perhaps you've read about that one somewhere)

Never gets old.

They should have quit the fucking sport a long time ago.

And let them keep their "but we beat you in the 1800s" bs?
Let's play this long game... it's quite likely that we will witness Ohio State take the all time record, in spite of being saddled with 20 years of semi-pro Michigan beating club-team Ohio State.

That shit crippled Bama for years, always insisting on a "Bama Family" coach with Bear ties. Michigan is apparently still there.

It's a sad day when Bama gets something before you do...

Here's a significant difference, which makes it even worse:

Bama was trying to hang onto somebody with ties to a guy that won 5 National Championships.

Bo won as many as you and me.
