I still hope he stays
They were 100% all in, Jimmah was "the preeminent coach in football" (see this thread in the 40's). I want those arrogant cocksuckers to have to deal with hopeless abject failure forever. As much as they built him up, I want to see them tear him down.
Hell hath no fury like a stupid fuck of a sycophantic football fan scorned.
He leaves and they'll start the "he was about to start winning" bull[Mark May].
I want to break them. Then they can die.
He gets to rotate out players every 4 years in college. Just before his Asperger's wears too thin. That's one of the main reasons I don't see him leaving college.
Now the fact he was run out of town on a rail by his NFL front office and owners does not bode well for his long term relationship with donors, boosters and faculty at tsun. Let's remember, the attention whore act isn't really an act. That is who he is and that [Mark May] will wear thin on everybody eventually. As we saw in SF, I don't know that he can win enough to overcome it and that is if he was, you know, winning.
As far as the NFL goes, I don't think he's all that hot of a commodity personally. The easy thing to say is "an NFL team gets desperate, they'll spend the money". Well, SF kicked his goofy ass out the door and no one else backed up the Brinks truck to keep him then, what has he done since at tsun to wet any NFL GM appetites?
I think he is their Cooper (long tenure, limited hardware, rivalry & big game failure) with the failed savior twist.
(SP) – Walmart has made a formal request to Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh, asking him to no longer publicly state that he wears khakis from the retail giant.
“This is a matter of protecting our brand,” said a Walmart spokesperson. “People who buy our $8 khakis expect to convey a certain image, and we just feel that Mr. Harbaugh tarnishes that. He is simply not successful enough to be someone that a person who wears pleated, $8 khakis from Walmart aspires to be.”
I don't know... this would be about perfect. They pay him a fortune to come in for 3 years, he stiffs them... and among it all he doesn't even win [Mark May]. They'd have another [Mark May] recruiting class if he left.
Where do they go from there ? Hire Les Miles?
They wish he was Cooper. For as [Mark May] as Cooper was against scUM and bowl opponents... from 93-96, his teams were loaded with talent and dominated a lot of opponents.
I'd say Cooper is the polar opposite of Harbaugh... even temperment, great recruiter / bad gameday, outsider that never got the rivalry, made Ohio State an NFL pipeline, won some championships before and with Buckeyes, was welcome back and given an office even after parting ways
Cooper will always be (rightfully) villified for the epic failures against them. But we'll never see a Harbaugh team loaded with NFL talent like Cooper... and I doubt Harbaugh ever wins a B1G championship. Maybe if he jumps to the NFL and returns after Meyer and Dantonio have retired... cuz the wheels are already coming off.
PS Didn't realize I was quoting 2 of your posts .... not tryin' to single anyone out. Those 2 just got the hamster wheel spinning.
I am going to make every effort to use this quote in conversation today..... wring every last drop of schadenfreude from the sponge of woe.
No worries at all
Harbaugh is an unmitigated disaster and we all get to sit around theorizing the best way to wring every last drop of schadenfreude from the sponge of woe.
The only bad theory is if someone were to suggest we stop wringing.
What would be perfect would be if he did a Charley Weis and showed just enough improvement next year to get extended for something like 5 years at $10 million per year and then completely cratered.
I appropriated this for BP's Twitter account. I'll split the royalties with you.
24 hours later, and we received 23,272 impressions, 250 "likes", and 91 re-tweets. A very good tweet for BP.
If you've got anymore good one-liners, let me know....
