Oh, and quick question, what is the plop point for the airport? In other words, what point needs to be touching a road? With a completed town I need to plan accordingly so I don't destroy a bunch of stuff for an airport that won't actually plop.
The long side (2-3 blocks, iirc) snaps against a road. The original building is about the depth of a full-size industry building, more if the second runway is used. The bays snap to the front of the runway, and don't need extra space allotted.

Thx.

Got in and now I am ticked. Once again I need to move my water pumps. This is ticking me off, and is a completely stupid game mechanic. Is there any way to sustain water?
I read somewhere that ground water will replenish itself after rain, but have yet to see it. I stopped using the pumping station after they dried up too quickly. If you could use two in different areas, and turn one off while the other is replenished, that would be okay, but no.

BTW, you can pop into my city to see the airport.

EA named worst company in America by Consumerist
Mass Effect, FIFA, and The Sims publisher Electronic Arts is the worst company in the United States, according to the results of more than 250,000 votes on consumer affairs blog The Consumerist. EA knocked out Bank of America in the final round to secure the title, winning the site's "Golden Poo" award.

It's certainly not the case in my town. The original spot I had a water pump still has no water. It's really annoying. They need a regional desalinization plant that can support regional water infinitely.

Just checked out your airport. Thanks.

Both of my towns are on life support. One has an unsustainable economy and the other is about to go broke. First it was germs from pollution. So I eliminated that by finally getting a university (that finally transferred). Yet now they can't find enough skilled workers and constantly shut down. Why does the game build high tech industry when it knows there is not enough workers. It should only build high tech when there are enough workers to sustain it and the rest remain mid/low level tech.

Oh, another gripe. Tourism is so freaking random I have no idea how to deal with it. When I first put in tourist attractions they make a ton of money. Then over time they get worse and worse. Eventually they lose money and need to be shut down. Why do they make money at first?

Then there is the fact my town has not grown in forever yet continually needs more sewage treatment. WTF? I everyone eating more and taking bigger dumps or something? The number of rich to poor has increased. That is the only dynamic that has changed. Do rich people eat a lot cheese?

Have yet to see Deety or Mr. Nargles online in origin.

Having fun experimenting with organic road layouts (grids are too boring). Too bad it took 2 full hours to get in.

I sent you an invite to our region, but I think you have to be on NAEast2 in order to accept it. In Origin my default start up is "invisible" and I have no idea how to change it for my default start up. I have to manually change it to show up.

From what I've read and noticed in the Beta (i have yet to buy the game) they really focused on wanting you to keep your residents and tourists interested and not getting bored. The same thing goes towards your higher wealth residents. If you put something it, you need to keep adding to it or creating more things to keep people coming back.

At first everyone loves it and wants to go, but after time if nothing changes with it why go back? If it's the same thing every time, people get bored (just like in real life).

Just a random question...how bad are the servers? Are they really as bad as everyone has said and complained? I've heard some people not having much trouble but then others that can't even connect to the servers at all. I just wondered what you guys are seeing. I will eventually get the game, just have a few other games I want to finish up before I get addicted to SimCity like I've done with the previous 4 games.

I'll give it another shot. The first few hours I tried that region I couldn't join or create a game.

Made it in. Is there anything I should focus on or specialize in for the good of the region?

Nothing major. I do have some tourist attractions, and I am not sure how that affects other players. Anyway, welcome to the area.

I am personally way too frustrated with the water issue. I have moved my water pump for the 4th time, and now my super rich city is running out of money because I have to destroy super expensive buildings and move them to put in more water pumps (which are super expensive themselves). It's kind of a joke. I have to find a solution to that. I wanted to feed the solar great work with processors but I needed to sell them to stay afloat.

I am going to let my 2 cities sit for a while and see if things improve with more towns in the area. That might give me a jump in tourism or send high skilled workers to the one city that needs them. Otherwise they are in a death spiral I cannot stop.

On the plus side my one town has the Willis Tower and Empire State Building. The airport seems to have helped tourism some (I finally got one planted), but I have spent millions moving around water pumps and destroying really expensive building and replanting them. I am not even exaggerating on how much I have spent. There isn't even a water based great work. What a stupid dynamic they created with water.

It has not been as bad recently. I have only had 1 time in the past two days where I couldn't play.

Researching the subject, rain is supposed to resupply water. Yet it certainly is not happening in my one town. Some people have mentioned putting them right next to sewage treatment. Sort of makes sense, but at one point mine were rather close and still had issues.
