My 8 year old daughter almost brought a tear to my eye by asking to wear her OSU gear to school down here today. I was telling my wife to not let here wear it because of all the idiots.

Win or lose, we're Buckeyes....she gets it.

That lil' gal has got alot of "heart".

--Some of the bandwagon chumps will now find other interests :)

--The entire program will refocus with a insatiable hunger.

--The entire fanbase has the air of invincibility removed and we can now get back to the reality of competitive top-tier sports.

Somebody needs to GPA that.

Well, outside of Big Buckeye's posts, I gotta say that I really appreciate the BP's positivity. This is the best fan board on the net for a reason.

As for BB, yeah, there will be some bumps in the road. But you don't think national titles, or even Big Ten titles, come easy, do ya? :wink2:

Perhaps in 2-3 years time when OSU peaks again this loss will still linger in the minds of the younger players who had to endure it, aiding them in ensuring it doesn't happen again. Also, I really hope this loss improves overall quickness and speed recruiting/training for the team from top to bottom. Unfortunately I think this game kept the SEC speed argument going for at least another decade.

I am araid that next year we will be weak at QB and WR.

I think we will have a tough time next year aainst scUM, Illinois, Wisconsin and Penn state.

Dude, think back to 2002. QB was certainly not a position of perceived strength. Jenkins and Gamble were very good, as are Gonzales, Robiskie, and
Hartline, so thats a wash. Also, check out the scores against scUM, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Penn State. We had a tough time against them all. It's called Big Ten Football.

Oh, by the way, we won the National Championship that year.

Dear Coaches and Team,

Thank you for a wonderful season. It was as magical as always and as we put away the trappings of another football season it worthwhile to take a moment and reflect on this past season and perhaps put it into perspective next to the triumphs and heartbreaks of years past.

First of all, we didn’t reach one of our goals. This season was to end with a coronation but somehow it ended with head scratching and thoughts of what could have been. We are saddened by it, but also comforted in the knowledge that Ohio state football is a lot more than championship trophies made of wood and glass footballs. A trophy gathers dust. Bragging rights fade. But the spirit never diminishes.

Once again we renewed the spirit. This spirit lives and breathes in every one of us. It doesn’t have a name, but it does have many attributes. We share this spirit with departed friends like Woody, and Paul Brown. We share it with friends that have left the hallowed halls of OSU like Eddie and Archie and we share it with Buckeyes to come.

This spirit gives us that familiar stirring when we hear the sweet haunting notes of Carmen Ohio or the driving beat of Hang on Sloopy that we all know by heart. It makes us understand something that no other group of fans could ever hope to understand. We know why Hang on Sloopy is a state of being. We know that Carmen Ohio is not a song, but a reminder that at our darkest hour we can still take great comfort in the knowledge that we are Ohio State. We can still admire stained glass O’s and swell with pride when we see the human scrawl that is script Ohio.

We lost a battle, but we still stand behind you. We still don’t give a damn for the whole state of Michigan and we are still from OH-IO.

God Bless you and thanks from all of us.

Hearing my daughter tell her friend(who loves Notre Dame) That we STILL beat Norte Dame warmed my heart.

(It is common in my house to hate on ND. It comes from living close enough to listen to South Bend stations.)
