What Would Evan Turner Do?
Either he's a Gator or he's throwing the dogs off the scent? It's the same thing with Ohio State. I talk with them everyday. I just like Florida and what the program has to offer.

Floyd Keeping Gamecocks' Hopes Alive
Written by Phil Kornblut
Posted on 01.07.10
DL Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia is in San Antonio for the US Army All American Game Saturday. Early this week he told reporters there he had a final three of Ohio State, Florida and North Carolina apparently cutting USC from his list. But, in his recruiting diary for SI.com, Floyd included the Gamecocks on his list of a final four. And Floyd wrote that he's told some of the other players his decision. "A couple were surprised, but they could tell that I fell ini love with the place. They know that this school, well, it's a program that will stand the test of time."
Floyd will be among the players who will announce his decision during Saturday's game.

X Buckeyes07 X;1637207; said:Seriously. Unless and until one of the people he told already come out and ruin his moment, there's nothing to be said. I want to see him in S&G but this is ridiculous. The game is Saturday at noon, how about we all chill for 2 days instead of trying to dissect his cryptic statements? Nothing said between now and Saturday is going to change anything, just sit back and let it happen. Plenty of time for nanners/pouting once there's actually a reason for them.

Defensive tackle cooks up more than pressure
By Chad Peters - Express-News
Crushing, chopping, beating ? those three terms aptly describe defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd's daily toils in the trenches.
Or the way he can work a kitchen.
Ferocious and overbearing on the football field, the big-bodied Floyd ? a starter for the East in Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl ? is the nation's top-rated prospect at his position. Turns out he's also quite the cook.
Never, though, did he think one hobby would become the gateway to pursuing his dreams in the other. But that's the fortuitous twist things took a year ago.
Looking to raise his then-modest national profile, the Philadelphia native lacked the means to fund a trip to San Antonio to showcase his talents in last year's national scouting combine. So his high school counselor got creative.
?I got it!? he recalls the counselor saying after days of thinking over various solutions. ?We're selling brownies.?
Brownies and football? Talk about thinking outside the recipe. But Floyd, a 6-foot-3, 310-pounder, relented.
?All right,? he said. ?Let's do it.?
The idea was to bake and sell brownies with the help of a special-education class, and to then sell those brownies on campus.
Floyd totaled about 13 hours over two weeks in the kitchen, baking alongside the special-education students during free periods. They sold several hundred brownies, raising enough money to send Floyd to the combine in San Antonio.
From there, a scarcely recruited kid who had received looks from only a few schools blossomed into the most sought-after player at his position.
?To this day, I still stop in there (the special-education class) and just say I love them and everything,? Floyd said. ?They were a big part of it.?
Floyd is considering Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina and South Carolina, and said he plans to announce his intentions during the All-American Bowl.

Washington's Sharrif Floyd set to reveal his college pick
By Rick O'Brien
Inquirer Staff Writer
The winner of the Sharrif Floyd sweepstakes, expected to be either Ohio State or Florida, will be announced tomorrow during the live broadcast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Floyd, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound senior from George Washington High, plans to reveal his choice during the game, which will be nationally televised on NBC beginning at 1 p.m.
Floyd is ranked by one publication as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the country. For his efforts this season while leading the Eagles to their third consecutive Public League championship, he was an Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection on defense.
Floyd, a two-way lineman for the Eagles, made official visits to Ohio State, Florida, Southern Cal, and North Carolina.
Ohio State's Jim Tressel and Florida's Urban Meyer were among the head coaches to visit the blue-chip recruit last month at George Washington. South Carolina's Steve Spurrier immediately followed Meyer's stop in Northeast Philadelphia.
Floyd practiced with the East squad yesterday at C. Marvin Gustafson Stadium. George Washington coach Ron Cohen, in San Antonio for the game, said Floyd was selected as most valuable player in the team's first practice.
According to a Rivals.com report, East head coach George Quarles said Floyd likely would be among tomorrow's starters.
Signs point toward Floyd's choosing Ohio State, with Florida as the runner-up. His destination will be revealed early tomorrow afternoon.

Floyd says decision is made
Phil Kornblut
DL Sharrif Floyd (6-3 311) of Philadelphia will be one of the prospects to announce a college choice during the US Army All American Game Saturday in San Antonio. And Floyd told the Scout.com website InsideCarolina, a North Carolina team site, Thursday he's made the decision.
"I do know my decision and I think a lot of people are going to be shocked by my decision," Floyd said. "I can't wait. There's a lot of weight that's going to be taken off my shoulders once I (announce). I can talk about my school and I can sit back, relax and finish my high school career."
Floyd narrowed his decision to USC, North Carolina, Ohio State and Florida. "Really (what seperated my final school) wast just where I was comfortable at, where I experienced the most at, and where I think I can build from," Floyd said.

Army game could yield big prizes
by Edward Aschoff
...
Philadelphia, Georgia Washington defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd
He has reportedly been a beast at the Army practices and is one of the top players in the country. Floyd has been courted by pretty much every top school in the nation, but he?s narrowed his finalists to Florida, Ohio State and North Carolina. The consensus is that it?s down to OSU and UF. The early money was on OSU, but it seems that Vegas is favoring the Gators at the moment. He?s told reporters his decision will be a ?shocker,? but it really won?t be unless he chooses UNC ?
- Florida: The Gators entertained him for the Tennessee game and he came away very impressed with what he saw, giving UF the early lead. But the loss of defensive coordinator Charlie Strong and the Meyer situation seemed to hurt the Gators? chances. The addition of DL Dominique Easley during the Under Armour game last weekend apparently has helped the Gators tremendously. Also, if Powell were to commit that would also help UF because Floyd says he wants to play around good talent.
- Ohio State: They are the hometown favorite. Yes, he lives in Philly, but OSU owns the Northeast in recruiting. He?s been rumored to have the Buckeyes at the top of his list for most of the year and that didn?t change when he arrived in San Antonio. The campus is much closer to his home and it?s very hard to pull a kid this late in the season away from a school that close and that good.
- North Carolina: Seems like an odd choice, but Floyd said he?s developed a great relationship with UNC?s coaching staff. The Tar Heels have had a solid defense since Butch Davis arrived and pulled an even bigger DT prospect in Marvin Austin a couple of years ago. If Floyd truly wants to make his choice a shocker, UNC is the way to go.
- Prediction: Florida ? This one took me a while. I had OSU pegged here the entire year, but after talking to a couple of people in San Antonio and out of San Antonio, I think Florida?s latest push to get him ? plus the addition of a couple top prospects ? will lead Floyd to the orange and blue. It certainly helps that Florida named former Miami Dolphins assistant George Edwards defensive coordinator on the eve on his decision.
Floyd could be in USC's future
Phil Kornblut
Defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia will announce his college choice Saturday during the U.S. Army All American Game.
Throughout the week in San Antonio while talking to different media people, Floyd has sent out different signals.
One report had him down to a threesome of Florida, Ohio State and North Carolina. Another had North Carolina out of the running and USC in the mix. There's been speculation Ohio State is out and he's favoring Florida. Floyd was even quoted as saying he's made up his mind and "a lot of people will be shocked," by the decision.
According to a well-placed source in San Antonio who has been close to Floyd all week, the decision may not yet be totally made, and it appears to be a 50-50 deal between USC and Florida.
"That's just how he feels," the source said. "It's between those two."
Floyd will no doubt keep everyone in suspense until he dons the team's hat sometime during Saturday's telecast on NBC.
USC is in very good shape to land at least one commitment during the game.
