Floyd is a big kid who plays on both sides of the ball in high school. He is one of those kids who actually looks a little bigger bulk wise on film then what he is listed at. He is a solid guard prospect and we would not be surprised to see him get some looks at that position. He is active enough on defense, we believe he will play there in college. If that does not work out, he could always move to guard. He has a solid get-off and can be tough to move off the ball. He is able to come out of his stance, generate some power and does a pretty good job at taking on and even defeating double teams. He will flash the ability as a big man to be able to turn his hips, get skinny and slip past a blocker. He moves well for a big man and can be disruptive, but really seems at his best eating up blockers and pushing forward. He does need to work on using his hands to separate and being able to work across the face of a blocker. As a pass-rusher he is a bull rush guy. On offense, he can create push and moves his feet well enough to reach the defender. Does a solid job of being able to work up to the second level. Floyd is a good prospect on both sides of the ball and that gives some added value. If defense does not work out, you could still get production from him on offense.

Lions vs. Gators for Floyd? -

In July, Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd said he would likely take three official visits, with one of them being to Penn State. Floyd has since changed his mind a little, but still plans to visit the Nittany Lions.

"I'm going to take all five official visits," Floyd said Tuesday evening. "I'll probably visit Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Florida, something like that."

The 6-foot-3 and 309-pound defensive lineman has plenty of choices. The sixth-rated defensive tackle and 74th-ranked overall prospect in the class of 2010 according to the recently-released ESPNU 150 estimates his scholarship offer list to stand between 35 and 40. The list includes Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Florida, Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan, Boston College, Miami, Rutgers, UCLA, Temple and others.

He's had an offer for a while now is my understanding...we only recently started a thread on him because for the longest time he never even mentioned OSU...

Things are constantly changing in the recruiting world and that is the case for defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington). A month ago, Floyd was talking about making just three official visits.

"I'm going to take all five official visits," Floyd said on Tuesday evening. "I'll probably visit Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Florida, something like that."

Floyd, who is No. 74 in the ESPNU 150, plans to make his official visit to South Carolina the weekend of Nov. 14 when the Gamecocks take on Florida.

He commented on the four schools he will likely visit. When asked about Ohio State he said, "I'm just looking at them right now. I haven't talked to the coaches too much yet. That's what I'll use the official visit for.

"I like the Penn State coaching staff. I'm thinking about going to one of their games. I haven't seen too much of their campus yet.

"I like everything about Florida. I visited Florida at the end of last month. I was there for a day and a half.

"I like South Carolina's campus and the coaches. I visited South Carolina right after my Florida trip."

The 6-foot-3, 298-pounder has plenty of choices. He estimates his scholarship offer list to stand between 35 and 40. The list includes Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Florida, Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan, Boston College, Miami, Rutgers, UCLA and Temple.

I thought Andy was the Sheriff.

Floyd was the barber.

Well, there was that one time when Aunt Bee needed to go to Raleigh (an you know she can't drive), and Barney locked himself and Gomer in the jail cell. Not sure what the line of succession is in Mayberry, but I'm sure Floyd is on there.

Back to the huge kid from Pennsylvania that I hope chooses OSU...
