SG Luther Muhammad (transfer to Arizona St.)

except off of switches, muhammad spent all of his 35 minutes guarding saddiq bey, who also played 35 minutes. bey scored only 2 points on 1/8 shooting after 22 points in nova's first game.

muhammad is 6'3". bey is 6'8" with a 7-foot wingspan.

Stud. Made some big shots tonight too. Didn’t even hit the iron. Straight through the fucking net like butter. Keep working young bull!

5 clutch FT by Luther after the game was tied at 48

Kid has been a steady consistent beast, he is not forcing anything because he thinks a freshman is taking the spotlight in fact he's on of Carton's biggest cheerleaders, it's like he knows he will need to step up when things are not going their way as a team and I can see he has learned from last years slump...love this kid

Not only one of Carton's biggest cheerleaders but I think he is one of the biggest cheerleaders for all of his teammates. At least he is one of the guys that I notice that is always really pleased when one of his teammates does something good.

As much as Luther has played since his first game here, I sometimes have to remind myself he's only 10 games into his sophomore season... because, man, sometimes I get frustrated with him.

I remember when he committed, a lot of people were predicting that Buckeye Nation was going to love him. at the moment, I think a lot of us are starting to wonder if Luther's ceiling is even lower than we might have thought (and I don't think anyone thought it was super high)... but at other times he has these flashes where you wonder if maybe he can just get more consistent in his approach, he can be a really good college basketball player.

I think some of the reason that people were expecting to love Luther as a Buckeye was because of the emotion and intensity he brings to the court. in Luther's case, though, I think there has to be more balance and control, because I feel like his emotion also leads to his bad decision-making sometimes and just overall erratic play. So now I find myself getting more annoyed with Luther's emotional displays than anything.

But, again, he is still young in his career here. I don't think he's ever going to be a star for us, but I do think he can be a very valuable piece the next couple years if he can focus his emotion into strong, tough, consistent leadership on and off the court.

I like his defense but the less he is involved on offense the better. Bad shot selection, bad turnovers. However, he can knock down a big shot from time to time. It's nice when we have Duane and don't have to rely on Luther for offense
