SG Jon Diebler (2nd-Most Big Ten career 3-Pointers, Butler Recruiting Director)

If Diebler would have had his form against Indiana, it would have been a real beat down. I can't believe that they let him have so many wide-open looks. He was just a little bit off and it's one of the few times that I have seen him miss so many of his favorite shot. Even back to high school and missing those 3 free throws were on excusable. Wait until I get a hold of that young man:)

And adding to it. He may hold the record for a long, long time.

Edit: According to the career list on Wikipedia, he needs 16 more to get into the top 25 all time in NCAA history (361). He has at most four more Big Ten games (Wisky, plus up to 3 B10 Tournament games) and up to 6 NCAA Tournament games to get there.

Thinking back to his freshman year and the hand-wringing by some over his shooting slump looks pretty funny now.

I think he came out of it.

diebler gets the single-game record with 10 threes on 12 attempts.

i'm so, so happy for him.

Edit - The 10 threes breaks the record for most in a Big Ten Conference game, and ties the record for any Big Ten game (Chris Hill, was 10-18 for Sparty vs. Syracuse in 2003).

He also made 9 in a row within a single game for the second time in his career. I'm betting that he's the only guy that has ever done that twice.

11 - the single game NCAA record for consecutive 3s by a player, held by Gary Bossert of Niagara (1987 vs Siena)
10 - the most 3-pointers by a player in a game without a miss, held by Andre Smith of George Mason (2008 vs James Madison)

Probably almost as many who have managed to do it once. :wink2:

Pretty sure he must have ventured on to Bucknuts and read what some of the hacks who call themselves fans were saying about him before the game. :tongue2:

Way to go Jon, it's been a pleasure watching you play these four years!
