Diebs was on fire tonight

hes shooting 45.9% from the field and and 46.4% from 3 so far this season, looks like he may be turning the corner and becoming a more confident shooter

I think the key to Diebs game is gettng shots off. He is the kinda guy that needs to take a lot of shots to get going. He might start of 0-3 or 0-4 but if he gets 7 or 8 threes off in a game, he will hit 3 or 4.

Keep firing them up Johnny!

I agree, but at times when other guys are hot, he can't just keep firing away...But when he is hitting he needs to fire...

He seems to understand that tho...Last year being the frosh he was more reluctant to shoot the ball, especially when he was struggling this year he is just letting them go...

He's hustling a lot more this year than last year... on both ends, but its especially visible on defense. The effort is there and it's showing up in the box score.

I've heard he's been on fire in practices this year. Glad to see him show it when the lights and cameras are on.

As with most young players........they go into their Sophmore years with a year of experience and a off season to get stronger.........Diebler is playing like most of us thought he would last year.............I am hoping that he can maintain his consistency and continue to provide that outside threat we need to be successful.

Diebs is 13-28 for 46.4% from behind the arc..........and averaging 12.8 ppg.

His play looked effortless, like he wasn't pressing to make shots. His form was perfect, he looked very confident. The team as a whole played outstandinng in the second half, this team I fully beleive will make the tourney this year. Diebs will be a huge part of getting us that far!

Besides Lauderdale..........Diebs has shown the most improvement through 4 games based on last year...........

CPD

Take the Diebler example. Last season, he made at least three 3-pointers in seven of 37 games. He shot 28.9 percent from long range. This season, Diebler has made at least three 3-pointers in three of OSU's four games. That run includes six 3-pointers made as part of a career-high 20 points in Tuesday's win at Miami.
Though he hasn't changed his shooting stroke, he's making 46.4 percent of his 3-pointers. He's just an older guy shooting it.
"I just tried to put last year behind me," Diebler said. "I think I put a little too much pressure on myself to make every shot. Obviously you're going to miss some.

If you ever really played the game, you have to measure yourself year after year. He knows his limits and is working on his weaknesses according to his efforts from last year. I think you can see some sort of leadership and much confidence in his game at this level right now.

I agree.....except Dallas has improved by leaps and bounds. I don't think anyone thought he would be starting over Mullins at this point in the season. Dallas is a flat out beast.

back on topic....i like Diebler

Last year, frankly I scratched my head wondering why Diebler got so much PT. This year, whenever he's off the court I'm eager to see him finish his rest and get back onto the court. Night and day difference, and I'm very happy for the young man.

Clearly he and Evan Turner have excellent chemistry and have fed off one another. They are our first two scoring options, obviously.
