Diebler scored 67 tonight as Upper Sandusky beat Shelby 106-101 in OT. Jon had 40 points in the first half and was the only Ram to score double figures. :yow1:

He has now moved into second place on the Ohio all-time scoring list.

that is AMAZING, i can't wait to get this kid in columbus. we are going to be an unstoppable team next year if everyone stays, it will be unfair to have so much talent on one team. i love THAD MATTA, he is the best recruiter i have ever seen.
good luck to jon on the rest of his senior season and capturing that record.

I watched the game and he put on a show, especially in the first quarter where I believe he had 20 + points. Shelby was consistently sending 2 or 3 players at him to try to slow him down. Everyone talks about the points but he played great defense and showed he can really pass the ball. A great performance.

Diebler's 67 downs Shelby
By Bob Fisher
T-F correspondent

UPPER SANDUSKY -- The game was sold out. It was televised on Sports Time Ohio and media from around the state were witness. Upper Sandusky's Jon Diebler didn't disappoint any of them. The 6-foot-7 Ohio State-bound scoring machine poured in 67 points to move into second place on the Ohio High School scoring list. His team needed every bit of that effort to hold off a pesky Shelby squad 106-101 in overtime of a crucial Northern Ohio League clash.

maybe it's just me, but i'm just about as excited to see diebler as i was to see oden. i'm already predicting (without considering the incoming freshmen for other schools) that he'll be one of, if not the, breakout freshmen of next year... nationally, that is. with lewis, harris, and possibly cook leaving, jon will have the opportunity for ample playing time. of course, if he will be as good as i think he'll be, he will make his way onto the court regardless. it depends, too, on his defensive pressure. cook can attest to that.

the bucyrus telegraph's math doesn't add up:
Shelby trailed 94-89 with 24 seconds remaining in regulation, but fought back to send the game into overtime.

First, Dudics nailed a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left and, after a Shelby timeout, Chad Coward stole the inbounds pass and threw it back to Dudics, who banked in another 3-ball to knot the score at 94-94.
i'm guessing that the second shot wasn't a three-pointer.

I watched the game too...what impressed me was his ball-handling. He could have had double digit assists if some of his teammates had finished off the dimes he was zipping around the court.
