He will get drafted but he will spend a lot of his time in the Developmental League if he decides to go. But I think he is making a major mistake if he goes but as has been stated he is getting some very bad advice.

He has too many God-given skills not to improve. He should just do them at the college level. You can see his natural instinct for basketball and athleticism just by watching him. I know that I did this past season.

how is he even considering jumping to the NBA ?? i dont beleive he ever even started one game the entire season! at the end of the season the improvement of david lighty (which was remarkable) forced his minutes to drop because of his falling production, his talent level is very high yet he was one of the most raw freshman ive ever seen. now hes a damn good shooter but he lost his shot at the end of the season and he forced a lot of bad shots as well, kinda turnover prone at times as well due to his inexperience, i am shocked he can even think about leaving he has so much more work to do on his game. he needs to look at wayne ellington's example of comming back for one more year to fine tune his game because his career will be very very shortlived if he leaves right now, he is so unprepared for the NBA its not even funny.

On the rare occasions that Daequan was found in good defensive position, he had his head turned the wrong way. I think that there was one defensive possession in the Florida game where he played well.

He also has almost no clue about shot selection, which contributed to his game "going south."

So "raw"may not be the most inaccurate word used to describe him.

The fact that Oden Sr said it, don't make it so!

Let's just wait and see what all three of these young men decide! If they stay, cool! If they go, then God bless 'em. All three have played a role in a great season and all three have been great representatives of this University.

he has tremendous talent when he puts his mind to it, he started off the season doing very well he was scoring a lot but that production fell off at the end of the season thus his minutes fell as well. but one thing about him that rubbed me the wrong way is at times defensively he played unenthused as if he didnt really care, and he started playing selfish ball at times when he would shoot the ball everytime it came into his hands or turn it over, sometimes he wouldnt use his teamates at all and just forced things on his own, and this is all just inexperience but he is without a doubt not ready for the NBA. his game is undeveloped still, potential and talent for this guy is immense, great shooter and jumper as well as rebounder but he couldnt sustain consistency in only one year of college basketball how is he ever going to in the NBA if he leaves this year ?

without reading this whole thread and just giving an outsider's view: I think Cook would be "thinking incorrectly" to decide to go pro at this point. He didn't really even contribute at all for you guys towards the end of the season! Definitely not a first rounder.

I think Cook had an extremely frustrating year and will leave no matter what his draft outlook is like. Sometimes it's hard for these kids who are accustomed to being the best to share minutes or wait for their turn to shine. Cook could have that next year, but I seriously doubt that he'll be part of the team. Just a feeling.

He will have a spot...

in the NBA even after the disappointing season.

He won't be a lottery pick and he will have to work hard for some NBA farm team maybe in Europe but he'll make decent cash even to start. If he does well then he'll get a nice contract.

He won't go to Europe. He'd likely spend a lot of time in the NBDL, if not the entire season there. He'll probably go to a contender at the end of the first, and I can't imagine him getting the minutes he'll need to develop. He'd probably be better going to a bad team, because at least then he could get some run.

I can't imagine him getting any playing time at all on a playoff caliber team(though if he works hard he could definitely do it, but I'm just going off his play towards the end of the season, and the tournaments).
