He really has. Although I think a lot of his shots are ill-advised, a lot of them have been going in. He's not going to be here much longer.MaxBuck;1654612; said:Nice line for Will tonight. 19 pts, 4 boards, 5 dimes, nil turns. He's picked a good time to come into his own.

-- Bucknuts.com reported yesterday that Buford will leave Ohio State after the season and make himself available for the NBA draft.
I don't know to whom Bucknuts attributed its information because the article was "premium" and I'm not a subscriber. But Buford said it wasn't himI had a chance to talk with Buford after he scored a game-high 21 points at Indiana last night and his eyebrows shot up when I mentioned the report.
"They didn't get that from me," he said.
He also denied it was true.
"You're getting it from the horse's mouth," he said. "That's not true."
You probably won't be seeing Buford going for the style points again that he did on the second-half dunk he clanged off the rim.
"I got tired of doing the one-handed and two-handed stuff, so I tried to do something different," he said. "I took a chance, but I missed it."
Matta said he had a "long discussion" with Buford about it after the game.
"It?s a teachable moment for him, to understand, `Just get two points,'" Matta said.
"As I told the team, from a guy who wasn?t a great leaper when he played, there?s nothing more I love to see than an Ohio State player dunk one. But by the same token, I?d rather see two points than a fancy dunk."

Unfortunately, I totally agree with the above even though I think WB would benefit greatly from another year of college basketball. I think his ball handling needs some work and he needs to get physically stronger. But as mentioned above, he is one of the few guys who I have seen in college basketball was such a nice midrange jumper to complement his other shooting ability.billmac91;1658488; said:The best asset William has is his pull-up mid-range jump shot which is NBA basketball to a T. I'm not saying he doesn't improve his stock by waiting a year or two, but his game fits what most NBA GM's are looking for out of 2 guard.
His ball handling needs to improve tremendously and there will always be a question mark in regards to defense when aplayer comes from a zone scheme. But overall, I don't see many guys with the pull-up mid-range game William has which is a plus in his benefit. With a 24 second shot clock you need guys who can take bad shots, but not necassarily bad in the flow of a short shot clock which is hwat Willaim can do. 2 dribbles, pull up J. It's his game....

I think I spent the first 25 minutes of that game pulling my hair out watching him. He takes some wild shots, refuses to pass and gets completely lost on defense sometimes. Then, out of nowhere, he plays like the best player on our team. He passes, he takes good shots and he plays great defense. Once he learns to be a little more patient and consistent, he can average 20 points.
