SF David Lighty (Most Career Buckeye Wins, ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket - France)

44820 thanks for the great info. Have you heard how Paul declaring affects Wakes plans? Are there any points out their left that Wake might pursue for next year? Agree that the longer Conley waits the better, as Wake is in on multiple point guards, although if he decides earlier I don't necessarily think it hurts tOSU chances. I have heard that Conley & Oden are visiting tOSU the April 22 or 23. Have you heard the same and isn't this when they were supposed to visit Wake? If this is indeed accurate this is Big IMHO. Thanks for the info 44820, keep up the GREAT work! I'm starting to believe we have a very good chance of landing the tOSU starting five:biggrin: ! We just need a little love from Stern & the players union as I still don't know how a kid turns down being the #1 pick, although Linehart did.

By BSB...the coaches are trusting Cook to work his magic on Lighty. Cook may in fact be the biggest recruiter we have for Lighty's services. Arizona, North Carolina and Florida used to be high on Lighty's list and may still be, but he does not plan on visiting any of them this summer. The visits may possible go to OSU, Michigan, Syracuse and possibly Michigan State. He admits that he may speed up the process after his injury.

I am starting to get REALLY good vibes from Lighty. The fact that he hasn't talked much about Syracuse or Michigan plus the fact he and Cook are talking about playing together in college (where they once were thought to maybe scare each other off).

44820- I have heard Lighty is more athletic than Cook. Do you know if this is accurate? I have also read he is a great 3 point shooter. Can anyone confirm this? Have we had an athletic 6'5" shooter in the program since Hopson? Kyle seems to think he is a better defender @ this point than Cook. Who can you compare his game to? thanks

I wouldn't say that Lighty is more athletic than Cook. They are both very talented. Lighty is a very good three point shooter, he is a catch and shoot type of player. I would compare Lighty's game to Paul Pierce, even though Pierce is an inch taller, they have similar games. They both can shoot it and when they have to they can get to the hole with no problem.

Lighty and Cook are both 5-star recruits still, right? Has OSU ever gotten two 5-stars in the same recruiting class?

Aren't Oden (obviously) and Conley 5-stars? Holy Horse Thieves, Batman! This could be incredible. Throw in Haragondy, and I'd call them the "5 Freshman That Are Going to Kick Your Ass"

How's Lighty's rehab going? Anyone know a tentative timetable for him to begin working out again? I would like to see how he responds to his injury. The guy is obviously a great basketball talen, I would like to see how he responds personally and physically to being injured and what he is like when he comes back and how fast. I'm sure being 18 doesn't hurt.

Its my understanding that he will be back in action in late fall. He is expected to make a complete recovery, I do not know the details of his injury, other than an ACL tear, wether it was partially or completely torn, I don't know. The fact he is 18 sure doesnt slow down the healing process.

I dont think OSU has had two five star prospects in the same class in recent memory, but we have had a few players develop into 5 star players on the same team. Lighty and Cook....plus Oden....and then Conley....ouch....

Hondo and Havlicek definetly could be considered 5 star recruits. Plus that team also had Larry Seigfried.....sick.

If my memory serves me right, both Treg Lee & Perry Carter were both 5-star players that were brought in the same year.

JJ was a 5-star too, but I don't think anyone else that came in with him was a 5-star (Mark Baker, Chris Jent, Jamaal Brown...)

Anyways, back to Lightly...
