sonny doesn't have the most sterling reputation. none of today's happenings surprise me in the least. but perhaps this discussion is better suited elsewhere...
I was going to respond earlier regarding sonny and his nephew but this little tidbit from this article sums it up pretty good. if I were CH, I would say away from Garfield Heights.
Alonzo Gaffney and Demetrius "Meechie" Johnson Jr. planned to visit Louisville. This summer, then-UL coach Rick Pitino offered a scholarship to Gaffney, a 6-foot-9 junior forward at Garfield Heights. A few months later, Pitino came to Cleveland to see Gaffney. He wound up offering another scholarship to Johnson, a freshman at the school.
scumbag Pitino was the first "big-time coach" to offer sonny's nephew… Shocking

That's quite a bit of gear Alonzo's sporting. He's got to have some in-state love...I hope he's got his head on better than Bragg. He does look like he's a borderline game-changer.
but it might also show that it is not particularly care for cold weather which might hurt our chances:wink: it is nice to see that Sonny put out the tweet so maybe he is coming around which would be a good thing because we do not stand much of a chance without his support.

James, Dwyane Wade and J.R. Smith showed up Tuesday night to see the city’s No. 1-ranked high school team in its home opener, a 102-57 win vs. Shaw.

Ohio State’s coaching staff, including Chris Holtmann
, also visited the school. The Buckeyes have offered 6-foot-9 junior Alonzo Gaffney and last week extended a scholarship offer to freshman guard Demetrius “Meechie” Johnson Jr.

The 5-foot-11 guard gave them all a show, scoring a game-high 22 points. Gaffney had 16,

Gaffney and Johnson were recruited hard by Louisville, but you've got to like how things are shaking out for us at this point.

I don't know who is on Garfield Heights' schedule this year, but we are probably looking at a big show-down at the end of the year between them and Moeller (Jaxson Hayes) for the state crown. Interesting to monitor.
