I've been following this thing on the Miami Herald website. That kid needs to be locked up and monitored for life, because you know he has serial killer written all over him... just like the Boston Strangler. Have fun getting ass fucked and bitch slapped in Miami Dade County Jail.

If the kid is sick, and I don't think many of us doubt that, how is having him sodomized and beaten going to make him healthy?

Mental illness is an identified disease, and while I have no problem with incarceration -- for the sake of the public AND the perp -- I would hope it would be somewhere humane.

As for Gator's pic of Michael Vick, it is interesting to see what happens to you when you have access to excellent lawyers. A life sentence in one instance and a year in another seems to say more about our courts than a rank ordering of criminal behavior.

This kind of sociopathy is not a "sickness" you just get cured of and sent happily back into society. Assuming he is the cat killer, this kid is deviant, not ill, and he deserves the same kind of sentence coming to any other adult who is fully aware of the criminality of his actions.

And I thought this was going to be a story about a cat killing multiple people.

Although there are some folks that would be less upset about that.

the real issue here isn't the fact that he was wandering the street with a .22 offing stray cats. he was mutilating them. these animals were tortured to death AND HE ENJOYED IT. thats the issue here.

several individuals have mentioned that the sentence is uncalled for or that a human life is more important. 100% irrelevant. the punishment for the crime has nothing to do with the "victim" being a cat. it has everything to do with the intent behind the crime. this nutjob enjoys inflicting pain on living creatures. he gets a kick out of it. whats more, he likely enjoys the human response he gets when family members come home to whats left of their now very dead pet.

there is one thing i agree with though. 158 yrs is a piss poor punishment. putting a fucking bullet in his head is far more appropriate. i would be more than happy to take care of the problem personally.

Liked to tie cats tails together and toss them over a clothes line and watch them tear each other apart.

The only problem with this statement is if we assume the kind of psychopathy that is involved with a nascent "serial killer", the awareness of the criminality only goes so far as to his personal awareness of the loss of his own freedom, not the ethical or moral problems involved in his actions. He won't give a shit that he shouldn't have killed cats, he will only care that he got caught and won't get do whatever he thinks is right, which is only whatever he wants, anymore.

Other than that, I agree, if we assume he is a true sociopath, he can't be cured. He is deviant, and can't be cured, in the sense of ever being safe in open society.
