By the Way, LSU has filled their last two roster spots (with guys that were injured in spring and apparently ready to return).
neither of those two spots are going to former NFL guys.

SOMETHING is going on, because what we know publicly doesn't add up.

Texas is Texas, I get that.
but you telling me Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky are voting for this because LSU might maybe add former "pro players" when they themselves are trying to do the same thing?

I mean if I'm an SEC president at one of those schools and I see them going after LSU, I'd wonder what's to stop them from coming after one of those schools going forward?

The NCAA is dead or at least dying. That creates the power vacuum.

The SEC is one of the two big gangs trying to step into that spot.

This is them demonstrating power by bringing a loose cannon under control. They will over react to make a point.

Think about it in those terms and it makes sense. The NFL player stuff is just theater, they need a pretext.

LSU: Mea culpa you win

SEC: "See?! It just means MORE!!"

And then ESECPN will slobber the knob for a couple weeks about how the "most powerful conference ever ever, even above the early 90s NFC East" made LSU bend the knee.
