SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

If I had to guess, I would have guessed opposite of your answer.

But let's let AI get involved:

If you want to believe Google AI, then I would say that I would have been wrong.

I'm not even talking about criminal law, I am talking civil (lower threshold)

the phrase that has stuck with me ..."everything is discoverable"

anything you say, text, ask AI, if they can get their hands on it, they can use it

oh i know it’s usable.

i’m just not sure what “imagine if we had pro players” proves other than Lane is a colossal smart ass they loves trolling people.
and i don’t think that part of his personality is much of a secret anyway.

a reckless disregard for the rules and intent to violate them is what I'd argue (understand that what I'd argue and reality are diametrically different things).

You and I both know what Lane was doing and how he is, I think everyone does, but when Dewey, Cheatem and How get hired to win, they are going to do whatever it takes.

He picked the wrong time to troll. I would also imagine that he is incapable of NOT running his mouth.

Also to your other question .... It's not in court. It's being decided by the member institutions. Court is where LSU will take this if they get bounced (which they won't).

that quote is specifically mentioned in the SEC’s amended lawsuit being filed in federal court.

My mistake. I know that the litigation began prior to this recent "we're gonna meet and discuss kicking LSU out" dropped. So the fight will be in court and in the board room. Lane certainly seems like he pissed in the wrong persons Cherrios. What a cluster ....

at first i thought this was just a dick measuring contest.

but it’s escalated beyond that now.

i’m still a heavy lean toward this will somehow all shake out in the end.

but the harder the SEC pushes this one i start wondering “what do they have on him?”

because if all they have is what has been publicly stated, the conference will lose in embarrassing fashion.

seriously right now they have (publicly)
“two unnamed sources in a a newspaper article”
“they intend to maybe do something later”
“they left two roster spots empty” (half the conference does that every fucking year)
“he was a meany head at halftime”

so either they’re holding some bomb that we don’t know about yet …. or this is one of the ballsiest bluffs in recent memory.

It's posturing for leverage to arrive at a deal.

No lawyer wants to go to court

Should be an interesting week in college football.

I think JaxBuck position is spot on. The conference (along with the BIG) are wanting to establish their own "guardrails" during this in between period. LSU unfortunately decided to be the poster boy for a rogue member. I don't see any path for a LSU win. It's damage mitigation time. Just like Texas Tech and Sorsby.

LSU unfortunately decided to be the poster boy for a rogue member.

and how exactly did LSU do that?

Texas, Texas A&M, Missouri, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and South Carolina all have “former NFL” guys sitting in the same holster that LSU does.

so that’s six (that i’m aware of) schools doing literally the exact same thing they allegedly want to expel LSU for.

so it can’t be that.

Not sure if it's justified. Doesn't matter. At Texas Tech it was the billionaire booster Campbell. At LSU it's your new coach who can't keep his mouth shut. All that matters is that you guys are in the barrel now and the rest of the college football world wants blood. Not fair, but oh well ....

This sanctimony from the SEC suggests to me that they are realizing, after not putting a team in the championship game in the last three years, that in the NIL era, they no longer can expect the kind of on-field success that they had become accustomed to. It’s like how when ND or scUM are having on-field struggles, their yapping about their tough academic standards gets louder.

It's bullshit. LSU is being singled out because their new coach is perceived as being abrasive. "After 93 years of enabling its rule-breakers, the SEC has finally found religion with LSU." - I couldn't have said it better myself.

I think it's part of something bigger. It has to be. You are talking real money here, not the kind of money that cares what a child like Lane Kiffin says or does (not really).

I see this as proof the new super league is coming and the SEC/B1G know it and are maneuvering.

Think about an NFL owner telling the shield to go fuck themselves. Retribution would be coming and right swift. I think that is what this is.

It's kind of like Vegas being run by the mob and having all these great quirky stories and personalities, then the suits take over and that's all she wrote. CFB is now in that end game as the suits kick out the mob.

SOMETHING is going on, because what we know publicly doesn't add up.

Texas is Texas, I get that.
but you telling me Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky are voting for this because LSU might maybe add former "pro players" when they themselves are trying to do the same thing?

I mean if I'm an SEC president at one of those schools and I see them going after LSU, I'd wonder what's to stop them from coming after one of those schools going forward?
